Dusk painted the skies lavender-pink, blending swathes were driven above much like a master unto canvas—confident, natural, beautiful. Mort could only ever see in wisps of greyscale, nowadays, and the sky was never-ending sea of dim silver. He missed the radiance of colour, cursed how he took it for granted all those years before.
When the last sun-rays of the day would kissed nirn, when the greens and purples and oranges would melt into grey under the moonlight, that was when the nightlife of Riften would rupture in a roar. All matters of ill-ilk would stalk the plane, smiles as sharp as the daggers veiled beneath their vests.
Mort would rather have all his deeds tended to by that time. Maybe have a bed, too.
So, here he was. At the Temple of Mara. A hand fumbled for the door, a large, calloused palm smoothing fleetingly until skin married handle. The door yawned open, and he dipped his head, so to enter without upsetting his noggin against wood or worse.
Mort was immediately overwhelmed by the explosion of clutter he sensed. His spell rippled out in front of him, forming bumps and hoops and crevices up until it kissed the furthermost wall. Bits and bobs, here and there, lone flowers smattered over the wooden floorboards. The smell, indeed—the aftermath of perfume assaulted his nares, threatened a scowl. A blend of rich aromas, ranging from more earthy tones to scents which were emboldened and floral.
There must have been a wedding here today, he surmised. Or perhaps, someone thought to wreak havoc for one reason or another.
Mort stepped further in. His boot met a weak plank, and it groaned—loud and grating—beneath his weight. He hesitated.
“Hello?” he called out to the empty cavity. He sucked on his lips, taut around the minutely curled protrusions that were his tusks. Suddenly, pangs of embarrassment filled him, doubting his judgement. Despite the fogged eye on his right and the swarm of gnarled, sealed flesh on the left, a modest look of apprehension tickled him. “… This is the Temple of Mara?”
💚 - Talk about a fun memory you had in character!
💕 - Talk about your fondest memory as a role player!
God both of them I cannot remember because my memories are spotty after 10 years hahaha and not to mention, there might be too many to figure out which could be them hah!
And now I suddenly remembered while typing this is this one thread I had with a particular Scout who constantly annoyed her by throwing away teabags and mocking her that I make her say to him 'Do you hate me?' to the point of making their mun crack up irl by that one line.
Sadly, can't say on my fondest memory since there's too many.

Kekipi softly hummed, taking his hands in hers as he shuffled closer to her to kiss her forehead. “I can tell,” she softly teased, looking up at him and then at his hands, particularly the one that had a clean bandage on it. She gently lifted it up to her face and pressed a kiss to his palm. “Is everything alright?” she asked him, looking up at the Prince as she slightly tilted her head.
The shadows in your head
They've got you down again
Got you feelin' low
Kekipi quietly roamed the quiet halls leading to Oberyn’s bedroom. The bedroom she used to share with him during their stay. She entered the room, leaning against the frame of the large door. Her body stilled as she leaned there, her eyes briefly taking a glance around the room. How it used to be filled with so much life but now... it was dark and empty. With the sun set now, it seemed darker than what it actually was.
After a moment, her hands had gripped into fists or at least one did as it tightened around the pendent. Kekipi had actually forgotten about the necklace she was holding and her attention fell on the object as she lifted her hand to look at the late Oberyn’s necklace, staring at the pendent and drifting off in thought.
She had to leave for the day on orders to retrieve someone. She thought she would be back. She promised she would be back in time before he went up against the mountain. However, when she returned, it was far too late. She was not greeted with his embrace. She instead was greeted with someone bringing her the necklace and before they could say anything she let out a quiet, “I already know.” The wolf would soon learn of what happen transpired. Oberyn avenging his sister but would also fall.
Tears would soon well into her eyes, the feeling of one fall down her eye and down her cheek caused her to shake her head, ripping her out of her current thoughts. Her grip on the pendent never loosened as she held it. She never got to say goodbye.
She walked to the large bed and sat down, holding the pendent in her hands. Her eyes never leaving the pendent before bringing up to her face. She bowed her head, the pendent pressed to her forehead as she sat there in silence. Her thoughts wandering once again to him.
Let it all melt now
Wipe your tears
The night before the night had sent her through a fear that she had never experienced before, not in a while really. How her mind clouded with shadows of various outcomes of the fight... She was very confident in that he would make out alive but there was that one outcome... an outcome that was not impossible in occurring and it scared her. The fear of losing him lingering in the shadows of her mind. The feeling of his embrace, the sound of his soothing but gravely voice whispering in her ear as he wiped her tears gently from her face. “Close your pretty eyes, won't you go to sleep, now?” he’d murmured quietly to her, “Baby, have no fear... 'Cause I'm right here.”
“It wasn’t your time,” the wolf finally croaked out, falling back into the pillows of the plush bed. She held the pendent close to her heart, teeth clenched as she tried biting back sobs. Tears rolling down her cheeks but she’d fall asleep after several agonizing moments.
Darlin', I'm right here
Kekipi would soon wake up to a familiar, finding herself in their bedroom. The sun peering in through the windows and onto her face. She reached out, blocking the sun from her face to see who had spoken. Oberyn stood there at the edge of the bed, a warm smiling on his face. “Obi--!” The wolf squeaked out, quickly jumping up from where she laid and leapt into his arms, her face buried into his neck as she held him tightly. He was right here. He was right there in her arms but he was not real. “Oberyn, I.. I’m sorry... I--,” she sniffled, looking up at him but was hushed by the Red Viper.
“Shh.. It’s okay... I'm right here with you, my dear,” he told her quietly. “Know I am still alive because you want me to be,” he said, raising a hand to gently brush a tear that threatened to roll down her freckled check.
“It's time to rest, now...” he pressed his forehead to hers, the both of them closing their eyes.
