it’s not every day that lincoln rhodes feels an overwhelming amount of nerves. but it’s also not every day that he finds himself wandering into the nearest coffee shop, rough draft of his deal with the devil in his hand. it’d been years since he’d written anything substantial, and while he wasn’t the worst writer, he knew this wasn’t his BEST work. the thought of being rejected from his dream, perhaps for the rest of his life, was enough to send him on a downward spiral, and it was reflecting in his work. once he’d ordered his coffee and turned to leave, however, his saving grace presented itself. or, rather, herself. she wouldn’t be his first choice for assistance, but with the deadline approaching, he was running out of options. quickly, he moved through the shop, excusing himself as he bumped into a businessman ( someone with less money than him, who was still more successful ). ‘ hey, ’ he starts, offering a weak smile to the girl who, about a week ago, he’d been arguing with. ‘ uh --- you’re a writer, right ? i’ve ... got this friend. he wants to be a vet, so, he wrote this. to get into the school. you could give it a read, ’ he rambles, not giving her much of a chance to argue, placing the sheets of paper on the table in front of her as he moves to slide into the seat across from her. @sclemisms​
