Drabble Prompt: Because the end justifies the means.
There’s no room for questions in war, no room for doubt, hesitation. There is only confidence, conviction. You can’t be shaken in your goals no matter the cost. No matter the number of soldiers, the men, the women, the children that fall to get there. Hesitation means losing, it means every sacrifice and drop of blood spilled will go to waste.
And the blood of soldiers and civilians; the body count, the dashed dreams and futures that range in numbers that are utterly unfathomable to the common man...all of that is the price of which Yamato Hostuin’s victory in this war would be paid with and he would not hesitate to spill it if it meant it was all worth something.
As he steps over and around the fallen, as he looks to the dwindling numbers of JPs.
As he raises his phone in opposition to the person he thought a confidant, a friend, and those who he thought highly of. Even then in such a moment, he refuses to let go and back down.
This world will change and Yamato Hotsuin would see through to it. One way or the other.
