Doris was a little bit behind the times. Her magic still being, at best, sparks she hadn’t bothered with the muggle papers since the holidays were over. “Oh, my god! Did you know, they finally caught the Yorkshire Ripper! Like a week ago, too!” She waved a muggle paper in front of Lily’s face. 

Doris was fidgeting with her books, putting them into a neat pile as she sorted through them. “You know I accidentally stole something from a shop not so long ago.” 

Yes, it had been over a week since The Oracle had been published with her big story, but Doris was still buzzing from the enormity of it. “What if the Prophet picks it up? I could see my name in an actual paper. Oh no, what if it’s already been in the Prophet? I haven’t been reading the papers.”
