Un vecchio pezzo che rappresenta il mio solito stato d'animo in questa stagione. Dopo lo spettacolo di ieri pensavo mi sarei sentito così, eppure oggi sta andando abbastanza vivacemente.

An old piece depicting my typical mood during this season. After yesterday's show, I was expecting to be stuck like this, yet I've felt rather active.

Two days ago, Trump went into what was supposed to be an infrastructure meeting with Democratic Congressional leaders. He didn’t even sit down; instead, he immediately announced that he would not work on any legislation whatsoever while Democrats were conducting “phony investigations.” Trump railed against the Democrats for about three minutes, and then left the meeting without ever allowing anyone else to say anything.

Trump proceeded straight to the Rose Garden, to give an “impromptu” press conference angrily defending what he had just done. It was so impromptu that the White House was already setting up for it during the supposed meeting, and had prepared a podium for Trump with signs and posters complaining about the time and money spent on the Mueller investigation (using false and inflated figures, of course), blaming the “angry Democrats,” and declaring “NO Collusion NO Obstruction” (also falsely).

Yesterday, Trump was again furious... this time at multiple reports that he’d been angry during the meeting. (Reminder: It is undisputed that he ranted for three minutes and then left without allowing anyone else to speak.) So during an unrelated event he spent over seven minutes trotting out his most loyal surrogates to vouch for him, say that the “fake news” media was lying, and affirm that Trump had been very calm the whole time he was ranting about phony investigations and storming out without letting anyone else say a word. “Couldn’t have been more calm,” in fact.

Next, Trump invoked his usual tactic of trying to paint his critics with his own shortcomings, claiming that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was really the one who was falling apart:

“She’s a mess. Look let’s face it, she doesn’t understand it. They sort of feel she's disintegrating before their eyes. ... [she’s] got a lot of problems. ...  I watched Nancy yesterday. She was crazy with the hands and everything. She reminded me of Beto.”

Finally, Trump took the opportunity to remind everyone once again that he’s “an extremely stable genius.” Because this is exactly how you’d expect an extremely stable genius to behave, right?

Ich fühl mich zu schlapp, um zu schlafen. So eine Großaktion wie Fernsehen geht fast gar nicht, alles juckt und es ist fürchterlich kalt.
