Another perspective on this fine building - the hand-scrawled lettering is so typical this squatted old theatre, the subverted corporate name a fitting touch from the anarchists who run the place. 

There was a massive and rather inspiring anti-Nazi concert at the old Rote Flora theatre on Saturday, protesting a scheduled neo-Nazi march in June. The sense of community, and awareness of everybody's social responsibility to stand up against right-wing extremists, was palpable. Plus, it was a lot of fun.

This is the building in the Schanzen where I take German lessons twice a week, and the handsome sign complements the door so well it looks like an original, but this is actually the former headquarters of luxury pen manufacturer Montblanc - the famous White Star logo is still there, on either side of the sign.
