Posted @withrepost • @smallcarbigcity Last night @miniparklanelondon held their #Mini60Years celebrations and the special guests was non other than Mini rally legend, Mr Patrick “Paddy” Hopkirk MBE! His first win came in 1953 at the at the Cairncastle hillclimb at the wheel of a V.W. Beetle. He started in professional racing and rally driving in 1955, taking a class win at that year's Circuit of Ireland, and clinching his first Hewison Trophy, awarded to the most successful Irish rally driver of the year: he would go on to win the Trophy for three consecutive years. Alongside Henry Liddon he won the 1964 Monte Carlo Rally in a Mini Cooper S car number 37, with the registration number 33 EJB. - possibly the most famous Mini of all time. Thank you sir for taking the time to speak to us and inspire us everyday 🙌🏻 📸Credit: @thatguygray #scBC10 #Mini60Years . . . . . . #minicoopersport #classiccooper #wearesmallcarbigcity #findthegap #classiccarsoflondon #classiccarsofinstagram #classic_cars_only #driveclassics #drivevintage #vintagecars #vintagecarsdaily #visitbritian #visitlondon #bestofbritain #londonbylondoners #tripadvisor #ohsoretro #Londonbylocals https://www.instagram.com/p/B2F95nCj9X0/?igshid=1vzao4y7hcotj
