ok so this isnāt an all-inclusive post actually since i think youāve read some of those but more like a response? to things weāve been talking about lmao ????

I kinda imagined him a bit of a perfectionist/neatā tru TRU!!! I JUST WANTED TO SAY: TRu (and i think part of theĀ āāisusueāā is mostly just that lorcan takes after rolf more while lys takes more after luna YES)
one thing i want to start with is like, the tension b/t lys and lorcan + their dad is like. complicated. as far as whoāsĀ āat faultā bc ultimately i donāt think the blame lies with anyone in particular-- lys absolutely does blow things out of proportion, absolutely does internalize small things, absolutely does lash out at lorcan in particular and wear his heart on his sleeve and take things to heart. at the same time i donāt think that rolf is totally innocent in the whole ordeal bc he is... more critical of lys than of lorcan, and even on a less conflict-focused level he relates to, interacts w, praises lorcan more often and lys has a major inferiority complex so itās. i DONāT KOW HOW TO EXPLAIN but anyway, even lorcan is like.... not uninvolved, if that makes sense. i donāt think he always intends toĀ āmake things worseā-- he can be proud which stands in stark contrast w lys, and lys honestly? does think lorcan is better than him lmao
bottom line i think the issue is that they speak different languages and when they were at hogwarts they didnāt know how to bridge the gaps. they forgot how to relate to each other essentially and being sorted into separate houses didnāt help obv...iously
on that note lmao i feel like a lot of the issue starts w/ hogwarts bc they were definitely close as kids but then they just sort of. fell to the wayside and lys lowkey felt BETRAYED even though that makes no sense lmao. idk what house you wanna play lorcan as being in-- iāve played lys as everything but a ravenclaw i think and similarly i think you could play lorcan as anything but a hufflepuff? iām probs going hufflepuff sos
HONESTLY I KEEP FORGETTING WHAT I WANTED TO SAY
but ok something which i think... can be sort of a jumping-off point for us is that i really think that (slowly but surely) being out of hogwarts, and also not being at home (and byĀ ābeing at homeā i meanĀ āgoign home for holidays during which lys often leaves halfway through the break to stay with xeno because he hatesā), will be really really really good for their relationship
like thereās still a lot of convos to have and healing to do but ultimately outside of hogwarts there is neither forced separation, having to try as hard 2 be around each other, OR academic pressure which tbh has al ot to do with the tatters theyre in
granted i think they still have to address... i donāt know lys still has to address the question ofĀ āsuccessā/ācapabilityā because he feels neither successful nor capable in lorcanās light/shadow but
itās also been like what? four years since they were in hogwarst s o we could even start at a good place and do some flashback kind of things to work on developing how they got there if you wanted to
my fave idea is the one where, lorcan has his own place and probably a normal job, and sometimes lys just crashes at his house for a week or so, and neither one of them really talking about it but essentially theyre lowkey sharing a flat eventually god
