THOUGHT FOR THE DAY AS WRITTEN AT PRASANTHI NILAYAM TODAY - 19 Dec 2017 #PRASANTHINILAYAM #SathyaSaiBaba #SaiBaba #SaiBaba #Swami #Avatar #Bhagawan #ThoughtForTheDay #quotes #WordsOfWisdom Of what avail is it if you simply worship your choicest Godâs name and form, without attempting to cultivate the samatwa (equal love for all) that #God has, and His unruffled equanimity (shanti), His abundant love (prema), His infinite patience and fortitude (sahana), and His ever-blissful nature (ananda)? In your lectures you elaborate on the incidents that are described as '#miracles ' in books written on Me as the unique powers of Sai. I request you not to attach importance to these. Do not exaggerate their significance; the most significant and important power is My selfless love (prema). I may turn the sky into earth, or earth into sky, but that is not the sign of Divine might. The abundant love that is universal and ever-present - this is the unique sign of #Divinity. Do not fall into the error of considering some to be worthy of #reverence and some unworthy. Sai is in every one, so all deserve your reverence and service! - Sri Sathya Sai Baba ---------- #SBOI â Divine #Discourse, May 17, 1968. #THOUGHTFORTHEDAY #PRASANTHINILAYAM
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY AS WRITTEN AT PRASHANTI NILAYAM TODAY 02.07.2017 Students, youth, your hearts are tender and unsullied. Develop broadmindedness. From this very moment itself, you must foster pure thoughts. Plant the seed of selfless love in your pure hearts. It will grow and from that tree of love, you will receive the fruits of forbearance, compassion and kindness. Always keep smiling. Face every situation in life, including death, with a smile. Realise that there is nothing greater than truth. Truth is God and righteousness is Godâs only ornament. Adhere to these two as the highest attributes in your life. Your words must not be mere words emerging from your lips but from the depth of your heart. There should be complete harmony in your thoughts, words and deeds. I desire that all of you must redeem your lives by concentrating on God, cherishing good thoughts and engaging yourself in the service of your fellow-beings. I bless you all! (Divine Discourse, Jan 19, 1997) - Sri Sathya Sai Baba #SBOI
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY AS WRITTEN AT PRASHANTI NILAYAM TODAY 25.06.2017 Islam means surrender to God. It teaches that God's Grace can be won through justice and righteous living; and not through wealth, scholarship or power. All who in a spirit of surrender and dedication, live in peace and harmony in society are in fact, followers of Islam. Islam insists on full co-ordination between thought, word and deed. Muslim holy men and sages have been emphasizing the need to inquire into the validity of the 'I' which feels it is the body and the 'I' which feels it is the mind, and reach the conclusion that the real 'I' is the self yearning for the Omni Self, God. During the Ramzan month, the fast and the prayers are to awaken and manifest this realisation. No matter which religion you follow, remember that the emphasis should be on unity, harmony and equal-mindedness. Therefore cultivate love, tolerance and compassion, and demonstrate this Truth in daily activity. This is the message I give you with My blessings. (Divine Discourse, July 12, 1983) - Sri Sathya Sai Baba #SBOI Sai Inspires
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY AS WRITTEN AT PRASHANTI NILAYAM TODAY 27.06.2017 The question, "Where does God exist," is often trotted out by people nowadays. By unceasing recitation of the name of God, Prahlada knew that God is everywhere! It is not correct to assert, "He is only here" or that "He is not there." The realisation of this eternal Truth can dawn upon you only after intense spiritual practice (Sadhana). You may see all kinds of attractive articles in a departmental store or mall; they cannot be yours merely by wishing for it or asking for it from the shopkeeper. Only those articles for which you pay can be secured by you. Similarly, you may be very interested in âRealisationâ, but for you to secure it, you must be willing to pay the price. Take courage and defeat your inner foes of lust, greed, hate and pride, and you will surely secure undisputed mastery over yourself and reach your goal! (Divine Discourse, Jan 1, 1967) - Sri Sathya Sai Baba #SBOI

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY AS WRITTEN AT PRASHANTI NILAYAM TODAY 16.06.2016 At times you may feel weak because you yield to anger and sorrow much more easily than others. I ask you to take extra pains to overcome these two. Repetition of the Lordâs Name is the best antidote for this, and if only all of you would take it up, the Lord would rush to your rescue. Never hate or feel envy towards anyone. Pardon the other personâs faults but deal harshly with your own! The Lordâs Name will instill the faith that everything is Godâs Will and teach that you have no right to exult or despair. When you go to a doctor, you must take the prescribed medicine and follow the advice and instructions. There is no use blaming the doctor if you default. How can the doctor cure you if you do not take the medicine or stick to the dietary regulations? Do as I say, follow My advice, and then observe the result. (Divine Discourse, Aug 2, 1958) - Sri Sathya Sai Baba #SBOI
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY AS WRITTEN AT PRASHANTI NILAYAM TODAY 22.05.2017 Many of you grieve: âIt is said that getting the audience of a holy person is destruction of sin (darshanam papa nashanam). Well, I have had darshan not once but many times, and yet, my evil fate has not left me and I am suffering even more than before!â True, you may have come and had darshan, and have sowed fresh seeds secured from the holy places â seeds of love, faith, devotion, good company, godly thoughts, remembering Godâs name, etc.; and you have learnt the art of intensive cultivation and soil preparation. You have now carefully sown the seeds in well-prepared fields of cleansed hearts. Now, until the new harvest, when the fresh produce comes in, donât you have to consume the grain already stored in previous harvests? The troubles and anxieties you experience now are the crop collected in your previous harvests, so do not grieve and lose heart! (Shivaratri Discourse, Mar 1963) - Sri Sathya Sai Baba #SBOI
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY AS WRITTEN AT PRASHANTI NILAYAM TODAY 16.02.2017 Activity finds fulfilment when wisdom dawns. Sanctified action (Karma) is the path to attain spiritual wisdom (Jnana). Every worthwhile activity must result in purifying the mind. Therefore, no one, not even a recluse or monk can desist from engaging in good deeds. These deeds must originate spontaneously and should not leave any trace of pride in the mind. Nor should any attachment to the result of the deed lead to a craving for claiming it for oneself. Renunciation must be the only source of joy. The Gita recommends 'inaction in action' and asserts that 'inactionâ is the most rewarding âaction' for those who strive for supreme peace. This attitude is named Karma Sanyasa (non-attachment to action). Action or activity is generally associated with the body only, but the mind is also busy with the world. The Atma alone is the unaffected witness. So, the secret of 'inaction in action' lies in taking refuge in the Atma and in recognising all living beings as fundamentally the Atma.
