Steve Harrington represented everything Eddie hated about modern commercialized theatre. He seemed to be little more than a jock who was dragged into a school musical because they didn’t have enough boys, and stayed for the ego boost. His mere existence went against everything he found right in the world. It’s Eddie’s absolute nightmare when they are cast in a play where they are required to be a near perfect mirror image of each other.

“I can’t work with him, Chrissy!”

They had been writing their essays for Play Analysis 1000 when they’d received their emails; Auditions for the Directing 3000 projects had been three days before, and they’d been anxiously awaiting any news. This was a huge moment for first years, they could earn serious respect from upperclassmen for this.

He was admittedly nervous. He thought he did well with his initial monologue, but the redirect? Some guy in a plaid shirt had told him to ‘do it again, but like you have fire ants crawling up your legs.’ He knew he committed to it, but he also completely lost his place in the text after a few lines.

When they realized that they’d been cast in the same project, the best friends squealed. But then Eddie finished reading the cast list and…damn. The blonde woman sighs, ponytail swinging with the weight of it. “It’s just for like 5 weeks Eddie, and we don’t even rehearse everyday. Be professional about this, you’re not always gonna love your costars.”
