Signal Boost! Help oppose CA SB 360
Please contact your state assemblymember to oppose SB 360. Horrifyingly this government intrustion into first amendment rights has already made it past the CA senate, but hopefully we can stop it!.

Reasons to oppose:
WILL be government intrusion on the free exercise of religion
WILL NOT help report abusers!!!!!!!!!!
(The bill is misinformed and reactionary: doesn’t account for the Dallas Charter, current Church protocols and practices, the curent reporting laws in place that priests are already obligated to follow, the nature and behavior of abusers in these types of cases, or the nature of the sacrament being attacked)
WILL force priests to choose between prison or excommunication
WILL set a dangerous government precedent that will affect everyone protected by the first amendment free exercise clause
Even if you aren’t Catholic or even religious this threatened government action should scare you.
