The Death of Freedom
There is a reason the first amendment was written the way it was. Without the freedoms that are attributed to those five things listed within, there are no other freedoms to be had. The next four amendments are also important, but without the freedoms of the first amendment, no others matter.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances"
Three of the above freedoms are being curtailed very seriously. The government is doing everything it can to limit what students say, what private universities are allowed to teach and allow their students to do, and threatening to pull the broadcast licenses of news agencies they don't like. To top that off, new regulations on protesting are being written every day in conservative states that make it easier to imprison those who do it.
Without the freedom of expression, speech, and assembly, you have no other freedoms. These are by far the most important rights you have, no matter what the 2a crowd likes to say. If you cannot speak your mind without government reprisal it is only a short step away from taking away any other right, especially ones that could threaten those in power.

When I think about cults and cult leaders and alleged “strong men” my main thought is why do people think they know so much? When it comes to a supernatural creator and the universe and souls and life and death, the only thing we know for 100% certain as humans is that we don’t know shit. And these men only have confidence in their delusions usually fueled by a desire to control others and gain power. They actually don’t fucking know anything more than the rest of us. They are just confident in their delusions. And the majority of humans at some point are looking for something to latch on to that quiets the existential dread. And we’re willing to allow ourselves to be delusional to the point of putting faith and trust in bad actors to feel an always false sense of safety and security. And then we allow our world to be destroyed, our freedoms to be stripped and the freedoms of others to be stripped so we can feel like our fucking delusions are real. Fuck you and your fucking delusions. Don’t force me into your fucking cage because you can’t handle the terror of the unknown. You shouldn’t get to fuck over everyone else’s liberities so you can fucking sleep at night in your goodie goodie blood bathed religious fever dream.
