So much joy today during my @lambdaliterary author visit for LGBTQ Writers in School Program. Grateful for the opportunity to share my queer story and also learn from our young folks. Loved talking to HS students about the Herstory behind writing my book SAY/MIRROR, showing them vintage photos & family memorabilia that influenced the collection, answering their questions, reading their requested fave poems, listening to them give presentations or share journal entries in response to the book and signing copies of their book. #ProudQueerPoet #SayMirror

Recently learned from my wonderful editor/publisher Lynne DeSilva-Johnson @thetroublewithbartleby & @the_operating_system that copies of my book, SAY/MIRROR, have already been shipped out for my upcoming authors visit as part of @lambdaliterary’s 2018 LGBTQ Writers in Schools program here in NY! So proud that my debut collection is included in the YA (poetry) category and for the opportunity to talk with students about blending poetry & memoir, why LGBTQ Lit is relevant, my own queer poetic influences, to share a class activity & presentation, my author reading, Q & A and book signing with students. Of all the places and classrooms my book has taken me, this is probably the one I'm most proud of and also most nervous about!
