I'd just go ahead and just write him because it's a fanfiction that hasn't been updated in a long time so write whatever the hell you want? Because like, what would the alternate ending be that makes it not happy? Because the way it reads from your answer is that an abusive man wins at the end of the day because a woman isn't allowed to be herself. Just in case he's nearby. Is that.....a better ending for you?

It's a anon T-girl Tommy fic. I don't think that's going to make anyone think, "Wow. This must mean that Wilbur Soot, very well known abuser and all around not good guy, is great because he was nice to t-girl Tommyinnit, a fictional version of Tommyinnit who is very much cis and might be bisexual but we aren't sure yet irl, or whatever."

I'm going to be honest, you could just spin it as him and Ranboo centric. And avoid Wilbur entirely. Because he hasn't been that much in the story. And I honest to God thought it was going to be Ranboo and Tommy centric anyway?
And maybe Wilbur being sucky could be the final push that gets Tommy out of the closet. I mean, Tommy was wearing pretty masc stuff because of Wilbur. He became a "mini-wilbur" for a while.

i have a very clear plan for what ranboo’s role in the rest of the story is lol like that was one of the first scenes i wrote.
i do like the “wilbur being sucky being a push for tommy” thing tho. that was something i was already trying to think of a way to incorporate.

i'm trying to. it's difficult knowing now what we know about wilbur. the fic is very focused on tommy and wilbur's friendship/weird codependent thing, and it's tricky to write that now. on the one hand, i dont want to completely derail the plot i have planned, but on the other, it's really hard to portray wilbur in a positive light, or portray him at all. i don't want my completion of a fic to be seen as endorsement of wilbur soot's actions. but i also know that if i don't finish it, it'll haunt me forever.
it's something i've been weighing and picking at for months. i have an idea of one way i could steer the story, but it wouldn't be as happy of an ending as i originally planned.

i may have picked back up sayg. i really want to finish this damn fic lol. so far i have about 600 words of ch4. i'm considering chapters 4 and 5 before posting so that way i dont go months between chapter 4 and the finale. we'll see. knowing myself, it could be forever until its done lol.
