"What a peculiar state we’re in."
The female doesn’t exactly have a strong connection with the male besides her, she doesn’t even understand how he’s still there walking the same pathway with her either. Naeun’s going along with the situation anyways, palm grazing along the surface of the tiny bag containing what was the last of her meals that she snatched up at the empty shop around the left before she ushered her step out of town out of fear.
Fear because somehow the world is falling apart before her eyes and she’s crumbling silently with it.
And that’s all she’s been doing the past few days, weeks — the brunette isn’t too sure, there isn’t a watch resting around her wrist to check the time or the date either. Snatching possessions in order to survive without being lured into the situation of getting caught or being in trouble with someone who’s older than she is. Can’t exactly kill her, they wouldn’t dare especially when there’s bigger problems ahead of their perspective. People, innocent people who brought humanity within the world they were walking on; dead. The soft grunts and muffled groans, no words rolling off of their tongues and the way their skin turns paler by the second — they’re dead. Alive, they’re moving aimlessly to seek out flesh to sink their dirty mouths into but they mean nothing any longer.
She tucks a couple of bandages, medication within the only place that she can place them in but it doesn’t add any weight upon her shoulder to where it becomes painful. And she heard hurried footsteps approaching her direction, turning swiftly and her fingers were wrapped around the closest and sharpest item there was — a needle sinking into the center of the male’s — the walker’s forehead. The grasp upon her petite arm was beginning to loosen up within seconds. It doesn’t pierce through the area once, it jabs at that same area if not closer to it to make ensure her safety that he wouldn’t potentially bite into her skin.
And the moment that body finally collapse for good, feet pushing against the deceased body to give it a push in order to let it move further back away from her atmosphere. She sees a male who isn’t nearly close to her own page, eyes meeting her own almost out of disbelief because the area is close to silence and it seems colder than it should be.
“What a peculiar state we’re in.” Jae Hwa commented on.
Naeun doesn’t give an answer directly back to him, she shrugs her shoulders loosely while peering over at the other male with a dull expression on her chapped lips. She isn’t blind, she knows it, been experiencing the most unusual situations for herself without anyone around her for that long.
“Well there’s nothing more we can do about it. This is what we’re fighting, to live.”
