let’s be real, none of you expected any different.  and i’m terrified because i tweeted it and tagged her in it and that’s terrifying because i don’t tweet things but YOLO. anyway - here’s what i said there: The Tick is amazing at mixing humor with its pain, and this doesn’t just stick to the heroes but shows itself with the villains as well.  We see in s1 just how much The Terror’s death affected Lint (in pretty negative ways), and we saw when The Terror returned both in her lines during that episode and in Yara’s amazing acting just how much it hurt her - supervillain bsod, basically - while there were definitely moments where it looked like The Terror didn’t care.  But it was nice to see Lint grow from that moment and that relationship in s2 with her own found family the way Arthur had his - and it showed that there can be different forms of recovery from abusive relationships and that being a hero doesn’t always look the same to  other people.  Sometimes the goal isn’t some grand heroic gesture; sometimes it’s just distracting the villain long enough to get his guard down (and reuniting with your own villain family instead of staying with what’s most lucrative to you).  And seeing a female villain have a redemption arc (and having the show highlight that) without losing herself and without necessarily becoming the hero trope was really really wonderful.  Sometimes being a hero feels like being a villain, and sometimes being a villain looks like being a hero.
