From the golden age of U.K. Picture Discs, here’s the 45 for The Fixx’s classic “Saved By Zero.” They were considered New Wave and MTV fodder at the time, but if you check them out today, they were pretty clearly a prog rock band gone (semi) pop, with hits that were both musically and thematically complicated works. This is a band that is due for a critical reappraisal but will probably never get one.
