The point of the controversy with all of this is that people don't know, they CAN'T know what kind of life this little boy could have if given the chance to live. Yes, he is more likely than not to lead a life of hardships and struggles, but he could also be a blessing those around him. I know someone who would have died without surgery when she was young. I am so grateful that she was able to have that surgery because she has been such a light in my life and those around me. No, she is not independent, but she has a job and a social life. Don't count Charlie out just because you can't be sure what kind of life he will lead.

A clinicians’ meeting will be held on next week, with the US doctor in attendance. This will be attended by Connie and be chaired by an unnamed medical ethics expert. The case will then be heard in full on July 24th and 25th - when the judge will make his decision in the case.
