Was Kairi's flower ever confirmed to be a nightshade?? It would be Interesting if it was a cypress flower instead...
This post is more interesting to me when it's extended to other characters.
Vanitas: Literal Darkness and guy who is desperate to be with his other half to feel complete. Calls his other half "home". His softer moments have been in heart stations, such his sad face when the X blade gets destroyed and protecting his and Ventus's ancient past when Sora attempts to traverse through Ventus's heart. His sympathetic backstory, which explains his motive, hasn't been brought to light (haha).
Ventus being in the Realm of Darkness feels like an opportunity to FINALLY incorporate Vanitas's past into the games whilst also addressing the subtext from kh3 (i.e. the mysteries surrounding Ventus, Marluxia, and Larxene).
The Foretellers+Sigurd: Characters from a story so forgotten [by the fanbase] they might as well never existed.
Aqua: Her struggle with loneliness in the RoD. Just putting a pin on this
Kairi: The events of khmom taking place in the realm of memory and NOT in the Realm of Light. It FINALLY brings up text that was in the kh1 Ansem Reports. Her admittance of her insecurities/weakness does not happen when she wakes up. In fact, the most we get in the Realm of Light is her saying that she'd like to continue training under Aqua
Namine: CoM is in the Realm of Inbetween. Re:coded is in the Data Realm. She first appears in kh3 in the Final world and then in Sora's heart station. She's only "in the text" during Days and kh2. The guilt for what she has done and her low self worth dont surface in the Realm of Light
That post about Herc and Ventus is amusing bc from my personal experience, i've only ever seen young Herc be referenced in RIKU'S potential godhood. This adds to my list of Rikuven Agenda (i.e. Ventus shares as many or more similarities with Riku than with Kairi)
Maybe it's my shipper brain but Herc's loss of godhood being comparable to Ventus's loss of his darkness Vanitas...It reminds me of Plato's symposium, a story that shares characters with the film Hercules and is about how two people came from one.*
(*Additional support for this claim are the weird gender/intersex symbols in Ventus's room. Two people...as one)
When i say i miss kh i am specifically referring to the short time period in which fans Regularly post about and draw other characters, and there is more than one (1) artist occasionally drawing one of the less popular ships.

Got reminded of khmom last night. Overall i still like the decision to have kairi go to aqua. However, it's the execution that gives it a bad taste. More time shouldve been spent on a better way to keep kairi in Reality. Saying she needs training after training in kh3 just comes off as...dumb lol. Even if you compare her rejection to sora's in kh3 and ventus's in bbs, it's still kinda bad.
Yeah, she doesnt have the same amount of experience fighting different enemies in different worlds as riku, nor does she have the PoW to avoid depending on him. However, that could've been explained in game to reason with the audience. Nomura has to know how much fans want their Destiny Trio so it comes off as as...rather insensitive?? to just say that kairi cant go bc she needs more training without explaining Why
kh/FNC thoughts:
Tl;dr I think kh's second saga is an extension of the Fabula Nova Crystallis but without explicitly using the mythos
Recently saw two posts on two platforms about Vanitas's theme being part of the Heroes and Heroines' medley. Knowing that Nomura sometimes thinks about things waaay far in advanced (i.e. Quadratum), i wonder if this is one of those instances. In terms of the story, i Really dont think Vanitas is done lol.
Musically speaking, the medley would SUUUUCCKKK if it ended with Ventus's slow theme. Also, it'd kinda suck if it ended with Sora's theme again. I can see the medley having been planned in advanced to be played again in future orchestral events.
However, knowing that it was played BEFORE kh3 came out, perhaps the medley should've been put on hold until AFTER. I see it was common for fans to believe Vanitas's inclusion in the medley meant that he was coming back and siding with the good guys, and be let down (and still be bitter about it today). On one hand, I can understand why some people would think this: they read the BBS novel and felt Vanitas needs to be redeemed. However, on the other hand, he actually does come back and sides with the good guys.....IF ONLY IF you believe in the theory that Vanitas is the one taking over when Sora is in Rage form ("But i do stand by your side; I'm the shadow that you cast. How much closer could I be?"). Rage form was part of the final battle with Xehanort, making it arguably canon and not just some punishing game mechanic.
