i think to me one of the most disappointing things the TYBW anime did was this scene... in the manga uryu specifically pulls out his seele schneider to make ichigo fall down below to create an opportunity for them to talk... given that uryu clearly intended to do this so he could pass the sun key to his friends, it's rather disappointing that the anime changed it so that it's ichigo who drags uryu down and it feels more like an accident than anything.

it's funny because they do include the scene of uryu docking the seele schneider on his bow but it... doesn't go anywhere?? that scene is broken up by a transition and then it immediately cuts to him fighting ichigo with his normal arrows. it's like a really weird situation where they wanted to include that one panel but didn't want to follow through on it at all??

i understand that TYBW is a bit of a special situation because of how heavily involved kubo is but watching it is definitely interesting to say the least lol. i feel like the results would vary but it would be nice if more mangaka had the opportunity to allow an adaptation to "complete" their work rather than just being awkwardly adjacent to it...

IH is so damn cute in all of these episodes it's crazy 😭 changed a scene of ichigo just grabbing orihime to get her out of danger to a full blown princess carry... i was hoping they'd add more to chad and ganju's scenes but they still have time to do that later i guess?

it's really funny going from urahara-yoruichi-askin fight where i think every piece of dialogue is literally word to word from the manga to the uryu-haschwalth fight that basically retains almost nothing from the manga. well it's good news for me... some of haschwalth's lines are really interesting to me it really feels like he's projecting his self-imposed need to be by yhwach's side onto uryu and like he can't understand why uryu would choose differently...

orihime's segment during yhwach's fight was Insane... fuck it made me really emotional and compared to how the manga did it you can really understand and feel how ichigo was relying on her as an equal going into this fight. it's great... and then at the same time uryu is talking about ichigo constantly what is wrong with him? it's all food just for me

in terms of lore implications/speculating future episodes i find it really interesting that they decided to omit haschwalth's vision of yhwach being cut by ichigo. isn't that mentioned when yhwach eventually gets defeated...? i was also sort of spoiled for the whole soul king thing but having orihime and uryu know about it makes things really interesting... i wonder if they'll even follow up on that lol.

other things i hope they expand on are the visoreds' role and uryu sealing up the rift between the worlds because those are original... it's interesting that they'd give uryu an additional task to do considering he barely makes it in time to shoot the silver arrow in the manga but maybe it's an opportunity for ryuken and isshin to have more screentime...? (please) the main thing from prev cours i want to know about is why uryu survived auswahlen 9 years ago...

overall really really good stuff the soul king implications genuinely just feel like fanfiction to me but in the best way... uryu getting kicked around like a ragdoll was great and i'm really really glad they didn't remove the stupid comedic scenes between toshiro and byakuya. now they just have to leave in the other joke when rnrk see adult toshiro and my heart is yours cour 4

this is longer than i wanted it to be and i didn't even cover everything i wanted to talk about 😭 the worst part of these early screenings is that i have to wait so long to post spoilers...
