Happy Birthday Vidal Sassoon 1/17/1928. I am sitting here reflecting on Vidal's life, as today is the anniversary of his passing. It is not a hard thing to do because I have two photos of him in my living room, so when I get up early in the morning when no one else is awake and walk down the hallway he's the first person I see. His eyes catch mine; it always makes me smile and helps strengthen my resolve for all of the challenges to come - after all, life always comes with challenges. One of the great Buddhist teachers I admire used to speak on the subject of business and how to approach it. He said there were three major points: First of all, it is good to have a successful business because you are able to give more people jobs and have more money to give away. Second of all, you should enjoy your business and your work fully. Third, at the end of your life you should be able to look back with no regrets and feel it was well lived. I think that Vidal was the first person I knew who actually accomplished this, and in doing so left a wonderful ideal to which all of us can aspire.
