Sunlight streamed through the curtains, causing you to stir. As you started to awaken, you felt strong arms squeeze you ever so tighter in a warm and loving embrace. You couldn’t help but let out a soft chuckle. He wasn’t much of a morning person.

“You’re not getting up are you?” Sasara whined.

Glancing at him, you felt your heart skip a beat at the sight. His bed head was splayed out over his pillow and the morning sun shone around him like a halo. He looked so ethereal with his eyes shut and a slight frown on his face. He almost looked like a real life angel.

“No, not yet. I just woke up.” You assured him. “Besides, it's a lazy Sunday today.”

His frown melted into a tiny smile. “That’s good to hear. Because I’m not getting up yet, so that means neither are you.”

“So I’m effectively trapped here, hmmm?”

“Absolutely. You are now my prisoner now.”

You chuckled. “That doesn’t half-bad you know.”

One eye cracked open. “It doesn’t?”

Shaking your head, you leaned into his embrace. “No, not at all. It’s a lazy Sunday. We can do whatever we want. If you want to stay in bed all day, we’ll stay in bed all day.”

“We can’t stay in bed all day. I’ll have to go to the bathroom soon enough and we should still eat.”

“Oh, I suppose.”

Before he could speak, his stomach growled, causing you to giggle. “Speaking of food…”

“How about this: you go take care of that morning breath of yours, I’ll make breakfast, and then we can have breakfast in bed.”

Sasara frowned again. “First off, my morning breath isn’t that bad-”

“It absolutely is.”

“Whatever.” He scoffed, rolling his eyes behind his eyelids. “And second, I should be the one making you breakfast in bed, not the other way around.”

You shook your head. “I don’t think so. I’ll make breakfast. Besides, I’m a better chef than you anyways.”

“I don’t believe that for a second.”

“Oh? Is that a fact?” You challenged him. This got him to fully wake up, his eyes sparkling with mischief. He withdrew his arms so that they could prop him up on his side.

“Yeah, that’s a fact.”

“Well I think you’re wrong! And to prove it, why don’t we have a friendly little wager? We both cook simple breakfast food and whichever one tastes better, wins. The loser has to get take-out later. What do you think about that?”

He hummed, as if thinking it over. “I think you should be prepared to go to that Thai place on the other side of town because you’re going to lose.”

Before you knew it, Sasara raced out of the bedroom. He even threw the blanket over your head, forcing you to crawl and almost faceplant out of bed. You huffed, though your competitive smile never left your face.
