I would kill for a “you’re my parent’s rival’s son and they’re both politicians running against each other for Prime Minister/President/whatever but my parent doesn’t know I’m gay and you’re really hot but I can’t do anything because it might fuck with my parent’s chance at winning if anything gets leaked to the press so I’ll just pine from a distance and have daydreams about you returning my feelings” dynamic tbh

13: A trope that you are tired of

Underdeveloped and not-well-thought-out characters tbh. I can deal with pretty much anything as long as there’s a valid reason from your character’s backstory, personality or development to support it, but characters who always do things with no valid motivation whatsoever are the reason we can’t have nice things. If you’ve chosen a character you want to write, please give them the courtesy of delving into their mind and figuring out how they work in order to write them well.
