Howdy! Any chance you know what these are? A couple of them have been popping up in my yard lately and I’ve been absolutely enamored! :) Found in South Carolina

Gorgeous! The distinctive stem of these mushrooms makes them difficult to confuse - spindleshanks, they’re called (Gymnopus fusipes), in reference to the spindle-like shape of the stipe. They’re considered edible, but not worthwhile (and, as always, please do not take my ID as the all-clear to eat anything), but being so adorable, they’re one of my favourite little toadstools.
This would be really late in the year for spindleshanks in the UK, where they’re seen into mid-autumn, but I suppose it’s warmer in South Carolina?
