Mal:Â [carrying a load of grocery bags in both hands]
Alina:Â [reaches out a hand to help him out]
Mal:Â [switches all the bags to one hand]
Mal:Â [takes Alina's hand and holds it]
Alina: Thatâs not what-- okay.
@sanktasolis
Thereâs nothing going through her mind other than what now. what does she do now ? He won. The darkling won and she knows he did but heâs dead now and sheâs ??? Sheâs a girl whoâd given up too much and wasnât sure how to keep going now. sheâs lost. So freaking lost and alone and doesnât know quite how to find home anymore - sanktasolis
My muse is dead. Tell me how yours is dealing with it.
 @sanktasolisâ đđđđ  :   â i need you to liveâŚcause if youâre gone then, i donât know what the point of it all is anymore. â ââ   DEAD BY DAYLIGHT STARTERS  |   accepting.Â
â You know what the point is, Alina. â   The words are tender,  a whisper from steady lips.  Itâs been days since he stopped feeling numb at the knowledge that hunting the Firebird cursed them with, but the coldness that set in his bones when his hand touched her in that moment and everything lit up . . .  itâs  sunken into his bones, carrying with it the knowledge that no matter how this turns out, there can be no happy ending for the two of them.
All he can do is hold on to her, hold on to this  time  that theyâve got. The gentle brush of his fingers against the curve of her jaw, the feeling of her heart beating along steadily against his as he embraces her :  these are all moments that are numbered, and he wants to remember  every single one of them for as long as he can.
Heâs not sure how much longer he can keep being the strong one, but heâll hold on for her as long as he can.  Mal wants to laugh, but heâs scared itâll come out as a sob, so he settles for smiling at her.  The same smile he wore when they were kids, seconds away from getting chastised by Ana Kuya for bringing disorder into the orphanage, if not a little sadder.   â You canât ask me to be  selfish, itâs not fair. â  Fair to him or fair to Ravka?  He isnât sure anymore, heâs not even sure it matters. All he knows is that as long as heâs alive, the Fold will remain. People will keep losing their lives, the Darkling will keep winning.  There is no other answer.  â You love me and I love you.  Nothing  that happens after that matters. â
 @sanktasolisâ  đđđđ   :    â I will spill blood to defend whatâs mine. â          REIGN SENTENCE PROMPTS   ââ    accepting  !
Her Saintâs words are a fact she has never questioned.  She and the crew of the Volkvolny remembered well Alinaâs hesitance to end the sea whipâs life,  but no one doubted that the job had been completed as efficiently as one with a gentle heart was capable.  And yet, this time it is different.   â Spilling blood is always easy when itâs not someone you love, â   Tamar answers, hand pressing to her heart as she considers the implication of her own statement.
Itâs not hard to note the lengths at which Alina will go to protect whatâs hers âââ   Ravka, itâs people and the friends sheâs made along the way. But what is more hers than  Mal ?   Perhaps sheâs being a hypocrite, knowing that if she were in Alinaâs shoes sheâd sooner plunge a country into darkness before a knife into her belovedâs heart.  But Alina isnât Tamar, and sheâs certainly not someone who has the option to choose between saving the world and saving her  boyfriend.
â Yuyeh sesh, â  she says, though she cannot bring herself to meet Alinaâs gaze.  â I know this is no easy choice, Alina. No comfort I can offer you. Words are useless in the face of a grief of your own making. â

 @sanktasolisââ  đđđđ   :    â men donât like taking orders from women. . â          REIGN SENTENCE PROMPTS   ââ    accepting  !
Laughter slips from her lips like a huff,  head tilting to one side in consideration of the very true statement.   â Well...  theyâre a lot more amenable when youâve got their heart in your grasp and a knife to their throat. â   Could she count the number of time sheâd dealt with the same issue after her years getting into trouble in the roaring waters of the True Sea ?  No, but nothing ever quite  burned as much as the knowledge that sheâd always have to work twice as hard to be seen the very way other sailors saw her brother.  She remembered the feeling well,  simmering in her veins as if an Inferni was boiling her from the inside.
Those days were long gone, replaced by the brazen spirit that had become Tamar Kir-Bataar.  No one thought twice of doubting her word now, and if they did,  it wasnât for long.  She doubted it would be much different for Alina, who was a beacon of the very power that resided in those that would call themselves Grisha.   â If they donât like taking orders from you, Iâm sure you can remind them that theyâre donât  hold a candle to your own abilities. â   Her lips quirked up in a grin at her own joke.   â That should get a response out of them, donât you think ? â
@sanktasolisâ continued from here
âIâm what?â Nikolai was lucky her talents laid outside of Heartrendering, since his own heart had sped up at the mention of a certain âherâ that he for certain had not mentioned to Alina. He thought heâd been careful not to let his feelings show. He had been careful. Saints, was it that painfully obvious? He reached for the bottle of kvas and poured her some more. âI have no idea what youâre talking about. All women can be wooed with gold. Or emeralds.âÂ
â @sanktasolisâ sent  â donât look at me like iâm a hero. youâll only disappoint yourself. â
nikolai kept his expression passive,   just barely resisting the urge to roll his eyes and throw back another measure of kvas. ' thatâs not a very can-do attitude, â he said,   kicking his boots up on the table and shooting her a look through the dim,   partial light of the captainâs quarters.   it was late.   the rest of his crew had long-since retired for the evening,   as had the sun-summonerâs ever-lurking shadow.   for the first time since sheâd come aboard the volkolny,   they were finally alone together.
â lots of people are expecting a lot of great things from you,   you know.   the least you can do is put a smile on and fake it âtil you make it. â
