“SWEET JESUS! ….H-Heyyyyy?”

The little girl was far far from the fight, hands shaking as she huddled into a pipe to hide. Her Dad... he was in trouble and she did nothing- no she’d done exactly what she’d been told to... now she had to help him and herself.

“Hello, where’s my Daddy? No one will tell me....”

“You don’t have to worry about him. He’s just waking up now.”

“I wanna see him.”

“I’m afraid you can’t right now. He has a very important job to do.”

“But I wanna see him now!”

“You’re causing problems for him you know... he has gone through a lot to keep you safe and protected, forgoing his work and throwing aside family for your sake.”

“W-What?”

“I’m just here to help him get back on track. Smart brains like your father’s are hard to come by, this is the best way to make sure he does his work without distraction.”

“Don’t worry, this will be qui-”

“Just because you find that lifes not faiiir it doesn’t mean you haveta grin and bare iiit!” The little girl cheerily sang as she skipped down the street, she and her father had just stopped in town when he’d been asked to do one quick repair job for a families generator.  He’d handed her a little bit of money to nip to the shops and pick up some oil for the rusty old thing, so she quite happily accepted this mission.

Hannah wasn’t usually one to ask to hold a stranger’s hand... but it was getting dark out. She didn’t like the dark, for scary things lurked inside it. “My Daddy an’ me came out here. Have you seen him? He’s got yellow hair, blue eyes and lots of scars on him. He told me to hide... but that was hours ago.”
