Alistair Theirin and Riesling Puck are basically the same person, they even have similar noses and I’m mad I did that to myself.

🌿 What way does your OC show that they care without using words? What way do others show your OC that they’re cared about without using speech?

The best way to a person’s heart is through their stomach, and so Riesling worms his way in there by making people whatever he thinks they need. Whether that’s a hearty breakfast, or a very tasty cookie, or a grand meal.... He wants to make sure everyone is happy and full and won’t ever be so while he’s around.

Veri specifically sets the table and cleans up after him, as a way to show he’s cared for. Participating in his Thing but not being underfoot.

🌺 What does your OC do to calm down when they’re scared or after a nightmare? Do they have any special comfort items or need to be reassured by a specific person? How do they handle this if they’re alone?

When dreams are your domain, can you truly have a nightmare?

When he has... unsettling dreams, Veri is there to hold his hand and comfort him. That’s all he needs. Without her he just... he just tries to think of her. She’s what he holds onto.

🍄 What are your OCs favourite snacks? Their favourite comfort food which always cheers them up when they’re down? Favourite meal to make? Do they enjoy baking and cooking and are they any good in the kitchen?

Oh come on, we all know the answer to this. Yes, he is a marvel in the kitchen. It’s the one thing he is truly good at, without any other interference. A gift.

His go-to cheer up food is pancakes (specifically, gummy bear pancakes). There’s something very wonderful about how simple it is, and I think that’s why it’s so special. Wonder in the little things and all that.

2. Sims writing has a visual component. How do you utilize color/objects and settings in your stories?  

I try to overuse the visual aspect tbh... I can’t draw for shit, so this is the closest I can get to telling a story with a visual component.

The game gave me the perfect gift with the Forgotten Woman Statue (also called The Forged Queen). I was able to create an entire plot point around this statue, use it to signal “some creepy shit is UP” in story, and then had it play into the Gen 3 finale in the most perfect way. Having to use in-game content to try to create a cohesive story is such a fun challenge.

14. What is something that you think most of your readers might miss?

I put a pale magical family with fangs and a mysterious backstory in front of berry simblr and only one person actually said “hey, are these vampires?” And then I didn’t even lie about it! I just said, “hm, that’d be spooky!”

It’s my favorite thing but also like.... I think there’s a lot a reader can miss because simblr storytelling hits a weird spot between super casual (because it’s a hobby to read it and there are pretty pictures) and like... semi-serious (because it’s a hobby for the person writing it and they’re putting their heart into it). So I also don’t expect everyone to catch everything (and when people START TO I’m like omg they really care).
