Oh hello!! Ohhh I have so many but no proper playlist- I'll list around five for each teen, if that's alright!! They all have a lil explaination too :)

Scary:

Scary is sooooo a true crime girl, what a problematic fav... In general I just find a lot of this song almost feels like it's in her voice, especially the stuff about the anger of the unfairness of it all and the desperation for connection.

Hmmm this one is a little hard to explain. It's like. There's a dead girl in the pool and it's actually you and it's your past self and you're watching her float away and you miss her / and you hate her / and you don't want to tell anyone because that would be admitting that used to be you but it hurts to see her not have a proper burial. She's still in you. You know?

Okay so this is less ABOUT Normal and more a song I think Normal would like!! This is a rendition of the song "Daisy Bell" with three computer voices doing a lil trio, one of which is a reanimation of the first computer to 'sing'!!!. The fact that it's a song about love but it's sung by computers, which are made by people's love and wonder and hope, but can objectively not feel it just. Makes me so emo. And I think it would make him pretty emo too :)

MY GUY. he has so many complicated feelings he gets angry and then feels bad and it's just a cycle and I love him your honor.

And it is such a strange movie guys. I struggle to call it good because it doesn't feel like a good movie? But it isn't bad either, and it isn't average because it's very unique but it's just. It's a very interesting movie I think. It's just very interesting. 

It's about Cathy and Jamie, a couple, and it has two POVs. One is Cathy's, who shows the very end of their relationship and goes backwards to the beginning, and one of Jamie's, which shows the very start of the relationship and goes to the end. And I think it's interesting because every time Jamie or Cathy sings, it isn't to themselves. In most musicals we have a couple songs just about the characters and what they want. We don't have that. Cathy sings TO Jamie, Jamie sings TO Cathy, and when they aren't singing to each other they're singing to some imaginary person like they're trying to convince themselves of something. We hear Cathy sing about how Cathy does, sometimes, feel as though she's a prop in Jamie's career, but it's okay because she reminds herself that she's a part of something big. We think, okay, these are her true feelings; but then it's revealed she's saying all these things in an interview. Jamie sings about how yes, he sees other women and does wish he could have sex with them, but it’s not a problem, just a challenge, as if trying to convince himself that’s true; then, at the end of the song, he texts Cathy that’s he’ll pick her up soon, while staring at his co-worker getting ready to leave. 

This is a movie that is covered in subtext and that you have to really watch and sort through in order to get it all. Jamie is aware Cathy doesn’t want to be just a good-bye note as someone leaves to further their career since it’s happened to her before. Cathy knows Jamie is cheating on her, which she only comes out about after he’s been cruel towards her again and shut down her attempts at fixing their relationship. Neither knows where the relationship went wrong and that’s simply because neither were truly looking between the lines.
