Our muses are destined to be each otherâs eternal rebounds
Squeezing her cold feet between his warm legs she tried to warm herself in the cold winter. The redhead ignored the hiss from the welsh who though complained under his breath only tugged her closer to warm her up.Â
It had started on Hogwarts, perhaps that day in the shower where they both needed to feel something, and from time to time when things weren't working well for them and they needed to simply forget and get lost they would meet each other again, there was no need for talking, they would show up in each other's doorstep and with one look they would know what the other needed.
It wasn't always sex, when the other one was involved they found other ways to distract the other, Quidditch, very lively discussions but mostly it was sex, luckily they tended to break up with their partners at around the same time so when they needed to find comfort the other one was available .Â
It worked well for them.
Because most days it wasn't truly the sex they were looking for (though it didn't hurt, truly it did not).
Just some companionship.Â
Someone to hold at the end of the day who wouldn't hurt them the next day.

Calm down there pal, I've got a girlfriend now! Don't go confessing your undying feelings just yet - Sam
That was all platonic McCloud, I donât swing that way. And even if I did, Iâm no boyfriend stealer. I certainly wouldnât want Ella to tear my head out off my shoulders. -Louis
Louis, if you see Darius, tell him we all went out and did a practice over the weekend. He was on the war-path when I saw him about the team skipping practice, so I fed him a lie about us going out and training - Sam.
That's why I love you ! You're the best and the most clever of us all. I'll pretend we practiced, even if I was in Hogsmeade. I just hope we'll be good liars. Â - Louis
mwahahahahahahaha you did this one to us. this is all your fault laura. remember you said it first not me.
But Ella knew she wouldnât be sticking around. There was just something about England that had unsettled her from the moment sheâd arrived, maybe it was all the unanswered questions she still harbored inside herself about her mother and why the woman could choose a half and half chance of survival over her own offspring. Questions of if her mother had ever truly loved her or had only seen her conception and birth as just something else she could use in her favor with the Dark Lord, promising the child to his service from the moment sheâd been born, Ella bearing the permanent reminder of that pledge for the rest of her life. But the main reason, one that she tried avoiding the thought of, was the fact that while here in England, while here in the castle that her mother had not only been a student in but had also lost her life in on Ellaâs first birthdayâŚElla felt herself connected with the woman who she had never really known more than she had ever felt before. Here, she could sense her true potentialâher true destiny. Â
And that terrified her.
And that was why there was no way she would be sticking around much longer than her last day as a Hogwarts student. As soon as her year was up, she was hightailing it back home faster than a First Year encountering their first ghost.Â
But yetâŚ.
Here she was.
Still in England. Still in England and in her first year at the newly established University within the castle walls.Â
Clearly something had gone a bit awry.
A place of her own in Hogsmeade, a part time job at a shop not too far from home, a few dabblings that she knew would make her father proud being dabbled in, a puppy, a heavy course load at the university, a Kinsley spare room stealer and a sometimes cubby roommateâElla didnât quite mind the change of plans. It was so often that she would come home from work and find Kinsley lounging around on her couch eating whatever food Ella had only just restocked up on after Kins last visit that it wasnât soon after Ella herself had gotten a key to the place that sheâd had one made for her best friend (only to find out that Kins had swiped hers one night and made a duplicate of it already herself). Always a welcome guest, Kinsley probably slept in Ellaâs guest room more than she did her own dorm room back at the castle, the girl now in her seventh year and due to that and itâs often occurrence, it left no spot for the even more welcome guest who would sometimes pop in from time to time much to Ellaâs sheer joy. Sam and her had grown a bit closer over the summer, a few secrets being shed and a stronger bond being formed between the two. It wasnât as strong as Ella had always wanted but she now had a sense that Samâs presence in her life was never going to waver. That no matter what, heâd be in her life one way or another.
But then againâŚthat could be for more than one reason.
A drunken night, a memory she now cherished while he had no recollection of and a secret that was growing day by dayâthere was forever going to be a part of Samuel Hamish Montague McCloud in her life. The slight rounding of her abdomen promised that.
Her condition was still a secret, not even Kinsley knew but Ella knew sheâd have to sit her two best friends down and break the news to them but she wasnât sure how sheâd answer the question of who had been the one to knock her up and she knew Sam enough to know that heâd be greatly concerned about that answer and would most likely want to drag whoever it had been to the ends of the earth and throw them off. And she knew Kinsley enough to know that KinsâŚwellâŚshe would just know and if she knew who knew how long before Sam accidentally found out. But at the same time, Ella knew telling the truth was more than certainly out of the question as well. Heâd want to instantly do right by both her and the baby and she couldnât let that happen. She wouldnât accept the right thing when it would be the wrong thing. She wanted him to fall in love with her for her and while she knew that she needed to all but give up on that at this point, she wasnât going to have him force himself to care more about her than he truly did because of a mistake. A mishap. It was going to be rocky and tricky but sheâd find a way. Sam justâŚhe couldnât know.Â
Coming home from work, there was no sign of Kinsley yet today but Ella was certain sheâd see her eventually and sure enough, she heard her door open not even an hour after her own arrival home but it wasnât the energetic voice of the girl that greeted the bouncy puppy that met them at the door, it was the soft tone that always sent her heart fluttering in her chestânow for more than one reason. âSam?â Ella called out from the kitchen where sheâd been poking around to see what sheâd be making for dinner, mentally now adding him to the list of eaters (already counting Kinsley from the get-go). There wasnât an answer but a heartbeat later he appeared in the kitchen door frame and leaned his long body against it, the puppy in his arms licking all over his face. âOh, so the dog gets to kiss you but I donât?â She teased, an eyebrow arched, smiling when Sam only rolled his eyes at her, a comment about sassiness muttered under his breath. Bouncing over to him, she itched behind the pupâs ears as she peeked up at her curly haired cub. âDoes sassy still get me a kiss?â Ella asked to which a look of surprise crossed her face when Sam nodded in answer. The look being replaced with a shriek as she danced away after he lifted the eager puppy up a bit higher and allowed him to lick all over Ellaâs face. âI DONâT LIKE YOU!â She yelled out as she dodged him and scrambled out of his reach. Hands on her hips, she just watched as he laughed and set the pup down before opening his arms. Making a face, she only resisted for a few seconds before bouncing back over to him and burying herself against him, careful to suck in her blossoming baby bump as he wrapped his arms securely around her and held her tightly to him in return. Feeling his hand stroking her hair, Ella just let out a content sigh.
Sheâd never been so happy that her mind had somehow been swayed than in this moment.Â
"HONEY, IâM HOME!"
One could always count on Kinsleyâs impeccable timingâŚ..
Joe hummed happily watching the couples in the castle kissing and holding hands. Joe was somewhat of a romantic, he enjoyed seeing people fall in love and share things. One day he might have that, one day he would meet someone he would cherish and love forever. But finding the one wasn't easy and he wasn't exactly looking for true love right now. It would mean having to settle down, stop his games. And he loved his games, he had perfected the craft.
But it was bloody valentines day and he wanted to have something that wasn't just a shag for the day. He searched around for someone to give his attention to, but found none he would be able to concentrate on for so long, he was almost giving up and going to look for Kinsley when he saw Sam. Bingo. Tipping his wand against his palm he produced a white orchid and walked over to Sam covering his eyes with his hand. He had seen some boyfriends do this and it always made the girls's happy so it was worth a shot.
"Would you like to be my valentine." he whispered in his ear uncovering his eyes and producing the flower in front of him. Now all he needed to do was wait for his answer.Â

Headmaster, I wanted to express my gratitude for rearranging my accommodation last night, I'm very sorry for any inconvenience and I know Miss Potter can't have given you much information, and I'm sorry I can't explain much, but I didn't feel very safe in my own dorm. Once again, thank you Sir
It's no problem Mister McCloud, if you ever wish to explain to me what transpired in the party that made you feel so unsafe you are most welcome to. But in the meantime you may come to me to talk about anything, your placement in Gryffindor will last for as long as you wish to. I hope the boys in that dorm are making you feel welcome.
Again, if you ever feel unsafe in any situation you may come to me.
