Since weāre getting into the sex in my fic, Iām putting this as a little guide for the characterās sexual preferences as Iām writing them...
Chris [MC]: Bisexual Switch Verse. Bratty Sub, Adaptive Dom. Light Masochist. Tops sometimes. [Due to trauma, not big on punishments, exceptions are orgasm denial/control and tickle torture.]
Mammon: Pansexual Switch Verse. Service Sub. Rarely Doms with 1 on 1. Masochist. Likes being tied up. Otherwise not super kinky. Frequently Bottoms.
Levi: Pansexual Sub Verse. Bratty/Service Sub. Doesnāt Dom unless very jealous. Loves Roleplay and strange kinks. Cuckold kink. Frequently bottoms.
Satan: Pansexual Dom Verse. Bratty Sub [very rare]. Gentleman Dom/Primal Dom [mood-based]. Rarely bottoms, but usually as a power bottom.
Asmo: Pansexual Switch Verse. Adaptive Everything. Will try/do almost anything. Bottoms just as often as he Tops.Ā
Beelzebub: Pansexual Sub Verse/Bottom. Not super kinky. Heās a soft boy and romantic and afraid to hurt his partner for the most part. [He can Dom on request, but it isnāt too common.]
Belphegor: Bisexual Dom Top. Brat tamer/Owner/Laughing Sadist. Power Bottom only. More likely to just have romantic vanilla sex than sub. [As a sub, he is the brattiest sub ever.] Humiliation/Degradation Kink.Ā
Solomon: Bisexual Switch Top. Like Asmo, will try almost anything. Usually Soft Dom or a Bratty sub most. Very romantic. Voyeur/Exhibitionist. Likes to share [not necessarily cuckoldry].
Diavolo: Pansexual Dom Verse. This boy canāt sub even when he thinks heās subbing. Closest youāll get is him being a power bottom or if you convince him to be tied up. Vouyer/Exhibitionist. Into Cuckolding [on either side]. He is heavily a hedonist and will try most things.Ā
Simeon: Demisexual Switch Verse. Not very kinky. Sensual Dom. Bit of a rigger/rope bunny. Fairly adaptive. Service Top is his fave. Into body worship.
Barbatos: Bisexual Switch Verse. Adaptive, prefers to Dom/Top. Rigger. Owner Dom. Service sub.Ā
Decided to include Simeon and Barbatos. Unsure about Barbatos, his might change tho. Might add some OCs to this later. But leaving them out for now. :3c
Notes:
I was only gonna include top/bottom/verse if the boys were either gonna be pegged or in a threesome, as itās specifically a queer term for [basically] who is getting fucked in the ass, but decided to include it anyways because it would look weird if it was in there for all of them but like. Two?Ā
Also, I use my personal definition distinction between bi vs pansexual, which means that bisexual is attraction to multiple genders (but gender does factor into the attraction) and pansexual is attraction regardless of gender (where gender has very little effect on the attraction).

me: *writes a scene for blushy solomon*
people: but solomon's so experienced, he would never be blushy! experienced people don't blush like that!!!
me:Ā *has done porn, fssw, and been a general slut for ages, looking over at my polycule of blushy bitches* boy do i have news for you
Mammon is the main love interest not Lucifer, Mammon is the ādefaultā character the game uses and the guy who cares for you 24/7, Lucifer is hardly romanceable with his intimacy taking forever to level up and being so focused on Diavolo, but he is the one who moved the plot forward and if you want a good story you need a character that moves it forward (e.g all stories in Lovestruck)
Alright, so. Iām gonna start this by saying: Iām not coming at this from aĀ ābest boyā orĀ āwho MC is supposed to end up withā orĀ āwhoās canonā or anything like that. Thereās nothing wrong with whoever is anyoneās favourite, either.Ā
This purely my opinion of the roles from a development standpoint. And Iād like to note that I believe that the Beta changed some things, though I canāt be certain what. I also donāt know how the Japanese version of the game differs [I canāt find it and donāt know if it differs at all.]
Also. This contains spoilers.
Moving on. The question is: Is Lucifer meant to be the Main Love Interest?Ā
Short answer: Itās⦠Complicated, since I personally donāt believe the āromance optionsā have officially been released, but if this had been written with only one romance option, itād be him.Ā
From a narrative point of view, Lucifer is the most important brother.Ā I donāt think thatās up for debate.Ā
Heās the reason everyone fell, the reason theyāre all bound to Diavolo, heās the one who locked Belphegor away, heās the one credited for choosing you for the program, and heās the oneĀ āin chargeā of you [Mammon is your guardian, but that choice was Luciferās, not Mammon or Diavoloās]. Itās his trust youāre breaking, his respect youāre trying to get.Ā
The narrative focuses on him more than anyone else. And this isnāt technically hisĀ ārouteā yet either. [If they do specific routes, that is. Weāre on wait and see for that.]
But, as you say, Mammon is the one with you all the time, so why isnāt he theĀ āMainā Love Interest?Ā
Well, because his narrative role in the story is often more of the clown or, in general, a humorous one. He is actively shown to have a crush on you, and is greedy for affection/attention from you, but his potential romance scenes never quite hit in the way they should if he was meant to be the main.Ā
When Levi goes to attack you, its not Mammon who saves you. Itās not even whoever you call for. Itās specifically Lucifer swooping in because Mammon couldnāt.Ā
When you go to the retreat, itās Lucifer who swoops in to steal you for a dance when Mammon is [rather obviously] trying to ask you.Ā
He does this again in the hard lessons while in London.Ā
Lucifer is the one to turn Mammonās idea of matching keychains between you and him into a group thing. [And itās mentioned later on only for Lucifer.]Ā
There might be more examples, but Iām going off of what I remember. And from a narrative perspective, Mammonās attempts at romance lean towards silly, light hearted, etc. If this were a traditional love story, heād be meant to be the awkward loser with a crush. Used as a foil to show you how cool the real love interest is.
From a Marketing Perspective, which is what I was referring to with typical Otome game pushing theirĀ āMainā, itās a little foggier, and it makes me think that Mammon and the other brothersĀ ātestedā better than expected.Ā
In nearly all marketing material that include all of the brothers, he is at the fore. Heās either first if itās a list, or in the center if itās a spread.Ā
His CGs tend to be featured the most often in the ads, and even the anime intro focused on him more than any other brother, more similar to if he were the protagonist.
[āBut Samie!ā You say, āheās the oldest, so of course he is often first/featured!ā Well, sure, but that was a narrative choice, as traditional demonology does not have them consistently aged/ranked like the game. Hell, Lucifer isnāt even universally grouped with these specific demons. Only the Laterne of Light and Binsfieldās [the āseven sins modelā] classifications even include Lucifer.Ā But I digressā¦]
Also of note, in otome game marketing, in terms of how the Shall We Date? Games tend to market/focus on their characters, Iāll look at all of NTT Solmareās Ninja seriesās. [Ninja Love, Ninja Shadow, Ninja Assassin], They tend to have a formula for theirĀ āmainsā, which is noticeable, but changes as they add more options. The Official Leader of the group is rarely the emotional leader of the group, who is almost always theĀ āmainā romance option. Which. Diavolo, as a currently unromanceable character who is literally the next in line to the throne, fills that role. [Hanzo, Makoto, Kinshiro].Ā
Lucifer is second in command to Diavolo, though, which is actually notoriously their favourite spot for theĀ āmain romanceā. [Saizo, Ukyo, Soji.] Mammon falls in thirdĀ āroleā, which in all of these examples, is the more flirty/cool character [Goemon, Asagi, Aoi].Ā
Iāve written more than I intended, so Iām now all kind of rambled out, even tho I could probably go more in depth with the thought process behind the marketing and why I believe that they altered plans when Lucifer wasnāt as popular as expected. [Mammon definitely stole the show in the beta.]
And once again, since this is an otome game, thereās no correct answer to who youāre supposed to romance, so they can only clearly cut off a romance option in a specific route. Which, we havenāt reached their romance routes yet, so I might be proven wrong.
Also, alternatively, my view of Lucifer as theĀ āMainā love interest could be because he was originally planned to be theĀ āmainā antagonist instead. Itās hard to say for sure.
I also didnāt proofread this or anything, so. Sorry if itās only marginally coherent.Ā
EDIT: I forgot to address the Lovestruck comment of this. Voltage tends to have different practices than the Shall we Date? Series. Both with their Lovestruck, the Love 365, and their Party stories. Ayakashi would be the closest [of theirs] in design, but I could write a whole thing on how those vary.
