In all honesty, I thought long and hard about this, and I’m equally satisfied with either of them proposing, but I feel like they would go about it differently. I feel like Makoto would go all classic, like, think classic proposal. During a date, gets down on one knee, “You’re the love of my life,” all that jazz. But I feel like Rin would go all out, he would make an elaborate plan, he would get all of the boys in on it, he’d probably even film it, because he is the biggest dork in the entire world, but he’s Makoto’s dork, so it’s okay.

It would probably just be a matter of who does it first..

But knowing them, they’d probably have it planned for the same day. 

shops for groceries

For the most part, they’d do it together. They would have bigger, “main” trips to the grocery store that they would go on together, but they would pick up things as they need them, for the most part.

It depends, I think! I feel like they’d both just yell and run away. They try and convince each other to go and kill it, it just depends on who does a better job of convincing the other for that specific time.

comes home drunk at 3am

Rin, if anyone. I don’t really see either of them as being into that sort of thing, but I can definitely see both of them being an occasional drinkers, though. 

I can totally see Rin going drinking with Sousuke. Like, I can imagine them getting drunk together, and he comes home to Makoto, and it’s just like “Rin, are you drunk?” and he’s just like “Maaaybe~”

(Rin as a really affectionate drunk though)

makes breakfast

This made me spontaneously think of makorin college AU where they both continue swimming and they’re like co-captains of the uni team and Makoto just eats whatever and Rin’s all like “MAKOTO YOU NEED TO EAT WELL WE HAVE A RACE THIS WEEK”

Makoto’s studying, maybe humming a song to himself, and Rin bursts in belting out the cheesiest love song ever

I like the idea of Rin better. Poor lil guy goes full energy, he crashes so hard during the night time.

Plus Makoto really likes to watch Rin sleep for a little bit, he really like the look on his face when he’s just fallen asleep, so sometimes he makes an effort to stay up just a little bit longer.

Rin, absolutely no doubt in my mind. He’ll send cute ones with cations like "Miss u" and just a bunch of hearts, and then there’s the goofy ones with the double chins and stupid faces.

And then there’s the sexy ones

And I mean, Makoto sends some, but not nearly as much as Rin.

But if you mean, like.. Sexually, I feel like it would be a very mutually decided thing, it wouldn’t just be sprung onto them by the other.

It went without saying that Makoto was caught off guard.

His eyes widened and his lips parted, looking for words but suddenly unable to find any, almost as if they were grains of sand, slipping through his fingers and out of his reach. He would have laughed this off, had it been under normal circumstances. But the serious expression on Rin's face was a giveaway that these weren't normal circumstances. The question was quiet, softly spoken, and Makoto may have missed it if he wasn't paying attention.

But of course he was paying attention. How could he not? It was only him and Rin here, there wasn't anything else to pay attention to. He thought for another moment, it wasn't whether or not he loved him that he was trying to figure out, it was how he wanted to respond. Or rather, how he could respond, because words seemed to be failing him at the moment.
