Same scene, different perspective. This was the prompt given by someone who doesn't have tumblr. [A.N: I don't know if I did this correctly or in a way that I am happy with. I may try this prompt again later on.]
Soin lingered as close to the waterfall of lava as she could, but too close and her body would burn and she would disappear into the rising steam. Normally this process wouldn’t have bothered her as much, she could travel to new places and visit with the wind. But, she had found something—someone worth staying near this active volcano for. She watched the beautiful fire elemental’s rippling hair defy gravity. Soin’s hair was whim to the tides and decorated with pearls and shells. The fire elemental had a lively curiosity about living things—though Soin watched those encounters end in Enni’s tears, or as close to tears as the fire elemental could manage. Soin let the currents pull her around to the other side of the erupting volcano where the fire elemental had wandered. She waited for her chance, a day when Enni dared to near the ocean again and the ground was cool. Perhaps today was that day. The fire elemental neared the inactive side of the retching mound of earth. Soin’s hope soared. The waves washed her into shore. As she felt the gritty, rough sand beneath her webbed fingers, her insides clenched. She had nothing to give to the other elemental—but what could she give?Â
