Gabi! I just saw that old post about Papillion and LU/KMM parallels just made me realize something that I should have noticed a long time ago. It very well may mean nothing, but the red lights in both LU and KMM are interesting to me as a photographer. You see, if you are out doing night photography or in a darkroom, red lights save your vision in the dark and help you to see better than a normal white flashlight/lighting. So to me, that imagery is very interesting in both.
Did we ever talk about it? I don't remember but I also skipped last year so maybe at one point it was talked about.
You said this great point: "red lights save your vision in the dark and help you to see better than a normal white flashlight/lighting."
So, let's see the lights.
When he's on the motorbike with the man looking very much free, he has red light on him. And it's dark.
When he's in the crowd he has green light on him. And it's dark.
When he's wearing the glittery suit he has red light cast at him as well. And it's still dark.
When he's floating in the water, the light is red again. Still dark.
The only 2 colors used as lights are red and green and when he's in the crowd, he's always green, the rest of the lit scenes are all in red.
I do feel like this is also a Things I can / Things I can't contrast.
And then the free Harry, sitting w a man on the motorbike is caught by police...
Argh this mv is so complex, so many things to unwrap here.
Now Louis outdid himself in KMM when it comes to parallels with Lights Up haha
Motorbike check, red lights check, night-day scenes alternating each other check
The entire concert scene is in red light.
The entire time of the video he's under red light.
Now comes your quote and it's very hurtful, anon:
red lights save your vision in the dark and help you to see better than a normal white flashlight/lighting.
We see you Louis, we see you.
