“chris! i gotta get going, i’m already late!” you called out, shoving your feet in a pair of sandals and throwing your backpack on your shoulders. you took one last glance around the room, making sure you weren’t leaving anything behind, before walking out of the bedroom.

as you didn’t hear a response, you carried yourself down the hallway and into chris’ “office.” you peered inside the small crack in the door to make sure he wasn’t recording, but instead he was editing, and you pushed the door open.

“hey, i gotta get going.” you repeated yourself, this time speaking directly to chris.

“okay! have fun in class!” he said, glancing over his shoulder for a second. clearly he was more interested in the editing process than you. you didn’t mind- chris had a tight schedule and had to stick to it. there was no time for breaks when he was trying to shuffle out a video, not even a few seconds really

you smiled and walked back down the hallway. “love you!” you called out as you jogged down the stairs.

“ditto!” was the response you received
