every time i am reminded of the stupid amount of facially scarred villains out there, i draw my favorite hero antagonist character with An Even Gnarlier Scar. please keep reminding me of this so i can draw them more.
still doodling Them... saw this tutorial on drawing facial paralysis by @saszor and was like... oh yeah, cítalia definitely has this. gave em strabismus too, since why not, plus they're one of my most intelligent characters so no stereotypes. i didn't follow it 100% because they have a snout, but i did my best.
they're an illusionist and the heroic antagonist of samatfoe, and we only learn about their facial scar (because of their illusions; it's easier to manipulate people when they're not staring at the ""hideous""" scar on your face) when it's very clear that yeah, they're a good guy.
in case you worry i've stopped thinking of svtfoe and samatfoe i just mistyped a totally different character's name as "shinjai" so i'm always thinking about svtfoe and samatfoe
To be clear on what's obviously the most important issue of svtfoe (sarcasm) I don't actually give an iota of shit about starco. I think it's the least interesting ship out there and they could've had a really interesting commentary on the Strangled By The Red String trope re: the blood moon curse, but I don't actually care about shipping in svtfoe. I care that shipping was placed in such high priority that it distracts from the very very massive writing issues in the rest of the story, to the point that the episode where everyone is evacuating and Moon is betraying Eclipsa comes to a screeching halt so the blandest milquetoast forgone conclusion couple can kiss. I care that the obvious White Savior plotline is ignored in favor of talking about how messed up the love quadrangle was. I care that there's no monster love interest (except Tom, who's not a monster politically) anywhere in the shipping tangle, because the monsters are considered faceless, opinionless props to make the protagonist look good. That's what I care about. Not the dumbass shipping, the actual themes of the story.
There's a reason I made them all aroace in the rewrite.

In hindsight, SAMATFOE has been a series of people trying to adopt Toffee and them going "I'm older and/or more traumatized than you. No." Until Sílthéy gets her shit together and realizes she's older AND more traumatized than Toffee, so she can be their parent.
