it does stress me out that brink of conscioussness dorian gray syndrome doesn't include the FULL character concept arts in the game because what do you mean these are the closest i have to oscar, sam, and anna's fully drawn designs

I love how most of the rooms in the manor are pretty and decorated but then you reach this one and there's very little elaboration

I love thinking about Oscar's secret room and the differences between the concept art and the final game version of it. It's cool that he would have a whole control system set up, to adjust the lights/lock doors/activate contraptions/etc., but getting to see his embalming equipment/chemistry set and gadgets is also good, too. My favorite consistency is the screens, though. You get to see how Oscar has been watching Sam the entire time.
What I love about this game is that is shows how competent and capable the villain is in thinking ten steps ahead of you, rigging everything possible so he could win in the end. I imagine it took Oscar a loooong ass time to wire and set all this up, just so he could play 'games' with his victims and watch them try to solve his puzzles. He's not just a 'win because he's badass', you witness the effort and work Oscar puts into guaranteeing he *will* succeed.
Sam posing for his mugshot after getting wrongfully convicted as a murderer:
Shoutout to Sam Wilde for being one of the best hidden object protagonists.
He doesn't sympathize with the serial killer, you can hear him reacting to his environment (i.e. shivering, humming when he finds a puzzle, heart racing when he finds a dead body, etc), and there's a point in the game where he steps outside and is momentarily blinded by the brightness after being inside dim rooms for awhile. He accidentally knocks things over on shelves and gets startled by it. You have an understanding that he's afraid - he's trapped within a killer's game with his love's life threatened at any second - but he braves through it for her. He makes mistakes, like publishing his name on the article that starts the game's events. But he also doesn't take Oscar's shit.
