🐟 orcas are cute because they create and follow trends and fads. In the 80s, a female decided to wear a salmon on her head like a hat, and it literally went from pod to pod. It has made a resurgence lately and no one is really sure why lol but there's a fun fact for ya 🐟
did yall know that some pods of orcas have been observed having cultural fads? A few pods in and around the Puget Sound started wearing "salmon hats" (dead salmon on their heads) and soon enough their entire pod and the others nearby were all doing it for a few weeks. It was first observed in 1987, but again in 2024
