“Huh?” She blinked up at her landlord; she hadn’t realized she’d spoken aloud. “Oh,” she flushed faintly, smiling. “Don’t be, not your fault. Just been a long week,” she explained; he was sweet. Not for the first time she felt lucky to be living in his building.
“Think tonight’s a bottle of wine kind of night,” she laughed, more than ready to relax on her couch with said wine, junk food, and whatever caught her attention on TV. “Got any exciting plans tonight?” she asked, the question completely innocent despite the fact she didn’t know how a guy as good looking and sweet as him didn’t have a wife or at the very least a girlfriend.
