There was something about her. It pulled him in. He didn’t know what it was, but the germaphobe who didn’t want to be around anyone or anything except a volleyball and some hand sanitizer, wanted to be around L/n Y/n. The thing was, being a germaphobe, he didn’t know how to be around her without looking creepy. 

When he found out his cousin, Komori, knew her, he asked him to convince her to become the team manager so he could somehow become friends with her. The brown haired libero was shocked when his cousin asked him to do this. Kyoomi didn’t make friends, especially not ones that didn’t play volleyball. 

“Are you feeling ok?” Komori asked Sakusa after putting his hand on his forehead checking his temperature which was swatted away by the ace.

“I’m fine” he sighed “I just find her interesting”

 “Interesting? Do you perhaps have a crush?” Komori teased 

“I might, I’m not sure, I’ve never felt like this about anyone, and I’d like to get to know her before deciding that” 

“I can tell you a little bit about her if you’d like” Komori offered and Sakusa nodded “Well, she’s quiet and kinda keeps to herself, I became friends with her by being assigned to a project with her and she was fun to talk to so I continued talking to her after. Also a little fun fact about her, she always carries hand sanitizer on her bag.” he smirked knowing that would catch his attention. “Now I’ll go on my way to convince your crush to be our manager”

“I haven’t decided that yet Komori!” 

Komori did end up convincing her to apply to be their manager. They hadn’t had a manager in a long time once Sakusa became one of the top three aces and all the girls that applied were just to get close to him. Ironically it was the other way around for this applicant. But sense Komori brought her in the coach accepted her application. 

She worked hard right from the start, and got along with everyone. The coach looked relieved to finally have someone helping out with all the manager things.

“Hey Y/n! Why don’t we walk you home” Komori offered after they had finished cleaning the gym up from practice 

“We?” She asked

“My cousin, Sakusa, and me” He smiled 

“Uh, sure” she smiled as Sakusa walked up. He looked up, actually down, at her and froze. He hadn’t talked to her once yet all practice, he hadn’t worked up the courage too. “Is he ok?”

“Not sure” Komori responded “I don’t think he’s ever talked to a girl” he teased which earned a glare from Sakusa

“I’ve talked to girls before, but never voluntarily” He said through his mask as they started on their way home

“I’m sure you’d voluntarily talk to Y/n” Komori said under his breath

“What’d you say Mori?” Y/n asked 

“Mori?” Sakusa questioned

“Komori, Mori, it's a nickname. I like to make nicknames for my friends” She smiled 

“What would mine be?” 

“From Sakusa, hm, I-”

“Do it from Kyoomi” he interrupted 

“Oh, uh, I’d probably call you Omi” She smiled 

“Then call me Omi” 

“Does this mean we’re friends?”

“Uh, yeah, if you want”

“Then I guess we’re friends”

For the next couple months Y/n and Sakusa became closer friends, surprising the entire team.

“Omi!” Y/n shouted and jumped on his back after the game he had just scored the winning point for “you did great!” 

“Thanks” Sakusa lightly chuckled and then set Y/n down

“Kyoomi, our deal” Komori punched him in the shoulder before walking away. They had previously made a deal before the game that if Komori dug up every single ball and never let the ball drop when he was in that Sakusa would confess to Y/n. Komori never let the ball drop.

“Right” he said and then took a deep breath

“Here’s your water and a mask for you” Y/n smiled 

“Oh, thanks” he said and gulped down some water and then held the mask in his hand. He wanted to confess without a mask on. 

“The mask is new, I promise” she chuckled 

“I know, I uh, I just have something I want to tell you without the mask” he started “I like you” 

“You like me as in?” 

“I like you as in this” he said and then lent down and kissed her. It shocked her that he, a germaphobe, kissed her let alone he kissed her in public right after a game. 

“Oh, like that” she chucked “I like you like that too” she smiled and then took the mask from his hand and pressed another light kiss on his lips and put the mask on for him.

“We’re dating now” Sakusa said and slipped his hand into her smaller one.
