PARIS, FRANCE -- French animated series 'Les Sisters' recently aired the finale of its 3rd season on Sunday morning (March 16th, 2025). Season 3 finale falls under the comedic slice-of-life genre, furtherly accentuated by the two-part episodes 'Merci crampon!' and 'Le namoureux Ă la maison' (Thank You Buddy! & The Lover at Home) that together, ran for only 12 minutes long. The episodes also ensure a seamless real-life viewing experience.
The first part of the Season 3 finale begins with "Merci crampon!" revolves around the frantic life of the Mauri sisters as they get into a range of delightful and comical mishaps. In one of the earlier scenes, Maureen Mauri is seen removing pictures from her iPad that showcase her romantic interest 'Maxence'. This is due to her negative perceptions about relationships.
Presumably, they are dating outside of her residence before consistently disturbing Maureen. A local surprise with their friends in the area, packed with water balloons to create chaos that disrupts their sibling bond. The episode delivers distinctive humor and family relationships, which have driven the global success of 'Les Sisters' where they air on a French public broadcaster 'TV5Monde Asie' through Tivi5Monde's programming schedule in the Asian timezone. After the chaotic water balloon fight⊠The hose got away from Maureen Mauri and her friends were successful, and the pictures taken on Wendy's iPad finished off for the day.
In a final, and the latter half of this split new episode⊠"Le namoureux à la maison" takes a romantic turn with a subplot that adds depth to the story. Wendy Mauri meets Maxence, who will be staying at her place for a few days, and he comes over on foot to Mauri's residence with a suitcase that night. While the French cartoon shows the context of budding romance, it's important to note that Wendy and Maxence will not have sex before marriage although the age of consent is 15 according to European laws. It's completely classified as Parental Guidance as they holding hands together and sweet nothings.
Life goes on as the sisters face a storm of emotions and challenges, as they deal with the complexity of their family dynamics. Maureen's last prank of the season with Wendy is a nasty one, she distances herself to thwart the budding relationship before Wendy shows up. Luckily Maureen intervenes and Maxence leaves Mauri's place when his feelings fade and goes back to his own place. The episode is a great mix of comedy and drama, it's a good ending to the season.
The Europeans like Belgium for example on RTBF (Radio-Télévision Belge de la communauté Française), continues to enjoy 'Les Sisters' despite its unclear future prospects. The show maintains dedicated fan support, yet its syndicated ratings decline among children and teenagers. Promotional and marketing strategies or campaigns for the French audience that might not be efficient, where they don't catch the attention of the younger or teenage demographic, maybe the show will end on that French kids network.
These promotional mistakes, including poor targeted social media ads and lackluster video gaming merchandise, might have contributed to the decrease in its viewership and might forcibly end the show after this 3rd Season finale. The unexpected shift in televised audience participation patterns leads viewers to question how long the show will continue now.
Show creators 'Christophe Cazenove' and 'William Maury' did not make an exclusive statement for us about the upcoming 4th Season, which has resulted in speculation about Season 3 possibly ending the series. The 3rd Season finale of 'Les Sisters' creates such high standards that upcoming episodes needing to match themselves in. With its great storytelling, likable characters, and a good mix of comedy & drama, the show is again the best of independent French animation.
As fans eagerly await the possibility of Season 4, they can continue to enjoy the existing episodes and reminisce about the memorable moments from Season 3. But for now, only time will tell if this beloved French cartoon show will be renewed or become a total lost media.
