im not sure if its something happening on tumblr directly but twitter is the type of deranged place where folks argued with me that it wasnt wrong for them to censor trigger warning words on social media and ao3 tags
like is this a game to yall do you not know the point of those words its so i can avoid shit i dont like and yall out here censoring the damn words and being smug about it
twitter is hell and somehow makes stuff on tumblr worse
lmao I actually hate Twitter. The main reason I have one is I've gotten 90% of my professional freelance work via Twitter, but it's a mental health minefield.
I can ignore most people on there with ridiculous opinions, but the issue with Twitter is I often end up seeing stuff I don't want to see, like stressful political arguments.
Also absolutely baffling to me that they're censoring words. Surely the point of the tags is so people can avoid things that upset them?? There's no naughty word fairy that's gonna float down from the ceiling and smack them on the head for not using an asterix?
Also it's impossible to have a meaningful conversation on Twitter. I want to shout "YOU'RE WRONG" about ten times a day on there because someone has completely taken the nuance out of a very complex, important issue or turned it into something that is just plain false. But it's not worth my time. At least on tumblr shit gets debunked fast and then rightfully mocked.
