Loose, catchy indie rock with a classic sound born out of another cult favorite, Delicate Steve, and a stormed-in few days of band practice in New Jersey.  The track “Officier” might be one of my faves by any of the CMJ acts on this list.

Night Panther

Odd to get into this shit so early into CMJ-- crazy electronic dance pop in the basement of the Delancey--but I wanted to end CMJ ‘12 with these guys and it didn’t work out.  So go figure, their only set this year is night 1, before dinnertime.  Check out insane cover of Grizzly Bear’s “Two Weeks” below.

Brooklyn- based math-rock outfit, featuring lots of fun instruments.  Brooding vocals adds to the intensity of their progressive, anthemic jams.

Full of rich, folksy melodies and smooth harmonies, Full Service is making jams that are easy to listen to and get lost in-- this music brings people together.  These guys are a related to a friend of mine, so looking forward to checking them out at one of my favorite CMJ venues in the LES.
