Saint Rich * Sorry/Sadly
Great driving rhythm on this. One of my favorite tracks from the New Jersey-based band.
Night 1 of the CMJ Music Marathon 2013 is upon us. Here's the lineup I've hand-picked for you tonight. Keep on rockin'...
Tuesday, October 15th
Saint Rich
Rockwood Music Hall- Stage 2 (196 Allen St. New York, NY 10002)
6:00-6:45pm
Loose, catchy indie rock with a classic sound born out of another cult favorite, Delicate Steve, and a stormed-in few days of band practice in New Jersey. The track “Officier” might be one of my faves by any of the CMJ acts on this list.

Night Panther
The Delancey (168 Delancey St. New York, NY 10002)
7:50-8:50pm
Odd to get into this shit so early into CMJ-- crazy electronic dance pop in the basement of the Delancey--but I wanted to end CMJ ‘12 with these guys and it didn’t work out. So go figure, their only set this year is night 1, before dinnertime. Check out insane cover of Grizzly Bear’s “Two Weeks” below.

The Loom
Left Field (87 Ludlow St. Manhattan, NY 10002)
9:15-10:00pm
Brooklyn- based math-rock outfit, featuring lots of fun instruments. Brooding vocals adds to the intensity of their progressive, anthemic jams.

Full Service
Fontanas (105 Eldridge St. New York, NY 10002)
10:00-10:45pm
Full of rich, folksy melodies and smooth harmonies, Full Service is making jams that are easy to listen to and get lost in-- this music brings people together. These guys are a related to a friend of mine, so looking forward to checking them out at one of my favorite CMJ venues in the LES.

Sondre Lerche (Recommend Advance Ticket Purchase)
Bowery Ballroom (6 Delancey St. New York, NY 10002)
11:00-11:45pm
Charming Norwegian singer/songwriter known for his verbose, witty, and personal lyrics in the vein of Conor Oberst, Ben Gibbard, etc..

Hunters
Cameo Gallery (93 North 6th St. Brooklyn, NY 11211)
12:00-12:45am
A Brooklyn art-punk band fronted by tough, sexy punk chick? Of course Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs is involved.
