Happy Birthday, Emily Rose!
As you may know, Saturday was my best friend's birthday! So, in true Kaitlyn spirit, I just finished her present today. I have known this girl for over three years, going on four, and we've been through a lot together. GleeWiki, roleplays, her giving me shit for my American accent and 'bad' taste in music, as well as always being there for each other when life gets hard, we've seen it all. So behold, the best of Kaimily (Kaitlyn+Emily)
"Adopted people are messed up" is probably the most classic of our inside jokes. I had been hanging out with some friends and one of them started making ignorant comments about children who are adopted. When I tried to stand up for a group of people I'm part of, my friend then responded "Oh, please, like you're not an example of someone who's messed up from adoption!" The next day, I ranted to Emily about it. I was so upset my friend would say this, and it's still probably one of the worst things anyone's said to me. When I was finished ranting, Emily responded "It's true. You are pretty messed up" jokingly, and I was so not expecting that comment so I burst into laughter. Now whenever I think of that offensive statement, I think of Emily making me laugh. And it has become something we reference several times a week.
The official, FOX owned GleeWiki was where it all started. I was eighteen, still in my final year of high school, and Emily joined the forums a few months after I did. I'm not entirely sure how it started, likely interacting on the forum games on the website, but soon enough we were extremely close and many people at the GleeWiki said that they shipped us. It's clear we're endgame, because the GleeWiki days have come and gone but we have stayed in touch better than anyone else on that website has.
RP masturbation is another inside joke. The very first Glee RP either of us did was....bad. To say the least. And there was this one player who asked if she could double up...and then spent most of her time talking to herself on her two different accounts. This was not the occasional thing, this was all day, every day. Duets had just aired, and Emily and I privately referred to this as "RP masturbation" (side note: Emily and I got sucked into Glee RPing together. It's all her fault)
Let me start off the explanation of Repressed Memory Emily by explaining that I have a type of amnesia where I have few memories of the ages between fourteen and sixteen, due to trauma. In 2011, some of those memories started coming back. It was overwhelming, and it made me feel very out of control. While I think it was worth it to learn some of what happened, at the time it was absolutely terrifying...and I talked to Emily as soon as I could to help sort everything out and make sense of the glimpses I was gaining back, because they often didn't make much sense and left me very confused. A couple months after the memories abruptly stopped, a show called Bob's Burgers happened to be on TV. There was a joke where one young girl and her brother were in the principal's office and she took a doll off the principal's desk and threw it at her brother. The principal cried out "Not Repressed Memory Emily!!!" and the girl looked at him, narrowed her eyes and responded "She won't remember anyways" The became an inside joke with us. Meanwhile, we got into Pretty Little Liars and Emily was very, very bothered by Aria's shushing in the opening theme because her finger was not in the center of her mouth. One day, just to piss her off, I made this my icon on Twitter. Her reaction was to use Repressed Memory Emily. Needless to say, I lost that mini Twitter-war.
There's no real story behind Hummelberry, to be honest. But Emily was a huge Rachel fan and I was a huge Kurt fan, and once Hummelberry became good friends in canon it was decided that they were our faceclaim. Emily is the Rachel to my Kurt.
When Glee Live came around after season two, they announced dates in both Cleveland and London and Emily and I both managed to get tickets. The tour came to me before it went overseas, and Emily demanded I send her a tweet, even though she wouldn't be awake for it, when they started performing Happy Days Are Here Again/Get Happy (see the paragraph above for why). She did the same when they performed it in London.
Pornwarts was a very fun group. It was Emily's second roleplay, but I didn't join until a few months after her. However, due to our friendship, Jesse and Kurt were best friends. They were very sarcastic, usually choosing to insult each other lightheartedly rather than actually say nice things. Because who bothers with kindness? Weaklings, that's who. In one moment of the RP, Pav and Harry got married and a pregnant Parvatti told Kurt that she had to drink for him, and then convinced him that he had to give a strip tease to a fence because that's what she would do if she were drunk. Kurt couldn't find any fences, though, so he got up on a table and declared Jesse looked like a fence and began stripping for him. Kurt was quickly tackled to the ground before it could get very far, though, and Jesse burst out laughing. Easily one of the most historical Pornwarts moments.
Despite multiple RP stories, Emily and I are rarely in groups together. She does her stuff, I do mine, and occasionally we cross paths. The most recent group of ours is a Samchel/Quinntana 2x2 where she plays Sam and I play Santana...I get to spend most of the time insulting her. So it's like Pornwarts St. Hummel, except if Jesse was a pussy who never fought back.
Last but not least is what appears to be a random gif in a sea of Glee. But any Teen Wolf fans will get the relevance. In an episode earlier this season, a lesbian couple was introduced. Their names were Emily and Caitlin. So Kaimily is so fucking canon and endgame, Teen Wolf ships us.
