Sail making/mending on the high seas.
Funny enough, for felling seams I prefer using a flat bone bookbinding tool to make creases and pressing rather than get out the iron. Good to know this is actual fairly historically accurate even if hers is wood and much larger (she’s also working with much larger seams than I am).
I haven’t been sewing for all that long but I have five cats so the iron is a last resort kinda thing so I had to come up with an alternative solution. I kinda feel… connected? With history. Knowing I came up with a similar solution to the problem on my own.
