Using sheeps wool isn't abuse.
Sheep HAVE to be sheered.
Through breeding, they lost the ability to shed.
Naturally, sheep looked more like mountain goats (a sheep, not a goat, actually) & now they look the way they do because of us, & if not sheered they'll get infections and wounds, they can get caught in bushes & limbs, they get to where they can't walk or eat. It's the opposite of abuse to sheer them. Sadly, we made them dependent on us, so we must sheer them for the rest of eternity.
I mention this because:
1. I saw a post telling people it's not abuse to use wool, but no explanation. They were replying to a post where someone called either acrylic or polyester fabric Vegan Wool, and a person found that ridiculous. Because it is.
2. I keep seeing protesters who think you kill sheep to sheer them. No??? It's their fur, not their flesh. They will die if you don't sheer them.
I think the things we use that I hear Vegans get upset about that I think are silly are Wool & Honey.
Wool= Saves the sheep that people forever ago made the way they are.
Honey= Doesn't harm the Bee's to collect. They leave at least 80 pounds in every hive, which feeds the Bee's through winter. And currently Bee Keepers are mostly who are working on saving the Honey Bee populations.
Pesticides, deforestation, parasites, disease, stress, weather change, etc... harm Bee's. And Hive boxes are kept clean and safe for them. Bee Keepers want living, healthy, and happy bees.
