Favorite Movie/Book Genre: She likes crime novels, thrillers, and Swords and Shields.

Least Favorite Movie/Book Cliche: Anything grimdark or with an Angsty McManpain protagonist

Talents and/or Powers: She’s a very good spirit healer, though not as good as Anders, and she specializes in primal magic and creation magic. She learned it very quickly. She’s also practiced a modified type of casting so that she can use her stave as a polearm while still casting spells. It’s a skill she picked up as an apostate. Other than that, she’s really good with animals, especially her mabari, and she does a good job teaching Fenris how to read and she used to teach Bethany some magic as well, specifically healing magic, so I’d say she’d be a damn good instructor and teacher (and that’s what she’d probably be if she ended up in a Circle).

She also creates her own staves and can apply some enchantments to them, another thing taught to her by her father. 

Why Someone Might Love Them: She is very kind and caring. She always wants to help people and she hates to be rude or unkind. She is patient and will seek compromise before a fight. She’s also a good listener. 

Even though her primary personality is sarcastic, it is because she wants to see people smile and basically make things a little more pleasant in the nightmare world that is Thedas. She is also mostly non-judgmental in the sense that she is kind to everyone and treats everyone with respect, especially elves. She was very upset with Aveline’s dismissive attitude about the elves’s accusations and incensed that the magistrate refused to prosecute Kelder for murdering elves, and she makes this known. 

Why Someone Might Hate Them: She’s very patronizing towards Merrill and Carver, even though she insists she’s trying to help. She wants what is best for her friends and family, but what she wants for them is not necessarily what they want or even what they don’t want but do need. She can be self-centered sometimes and has a bit of a martyr complex. She tries really hard to change people when she really shouldn’t, and she tends to insert herself where she’s not necessarily wanted or needed. 

How They Change: She kind of gradually get more and more depressed and cynical as they spend more time in Kirkwall. But this means that she stats getting more serious. She starts actively helping mages escape and protecting mages more openly as she gains influence as opposed to a passive distrust and dislike. She also starts speaking out more against the Knight Commander, against the Chantry extremists inciting war with the Qunari, and against the mistreatment of elves. Basically, she goes from idle ally to trying and actively subvert the elements that she thinks are hurting Kirkwall. 

She liked the idea of the Chantry before, but she really starts to believe the Chantry has failed, and though she still believes in the Maker and believes most of what the Chantry and Circle says about blood magic, she loses complete faith in the institution and would rather see it demolished. 

Why You Love Them: I like her snarky personality, and the fact that she tries to keep a sense of humor, a brave face, and tries to stay semi-positive in the face of constant hardshipwhen she has every reason to turn into a cynical anti-hero. I can relate very well to her struggles with poverty and trying to scrape by, feeling unsafe and being on the run. I don’t like how she helps people, but I love the intention behind it. She’s always just trying to do the right thing.
