One year ago, around July, I found this beautiful predatory bush cricket (Saga pedo) in the Apennines, apparently dead on the road, killed by a passing mountain bike. It wasn’t actually dead, but stunned and although slightly injured it survived the night and even tried to deposit its eggs into my garden. While releasing it back to the wild the next day, I wanted to show it into its own hunting ground, the thick Molinia herbs typical of my countryside. I used the 24mm probe lens to have this “inside” perspective. After a few shots I left it to its life, hoping a new generation would soon get out of the ground in two-four years (the eggs stay so long into the ground) thanks to my rescue. #cricket #sagapedo #bush #apennine #capannedimarcarolo #insect #predatoridelmicrocosmo #conservation #nature #laowa @ilcp_photographers https://www.instagram.com/p/CBiUimUAuhk/?igshid=4e02ghbzqrq7
