This bag belonged to my aunt who is a renowned artist in Japan. She passed away this year. My fondest memory of her was when I visited her in Saga when I was 4. She had me walk a catwalk with her daughter for a fashion show. She gifted me with a little red purse with tiny gold embellishments that day. Yoshinogari is a beautiful park on the site of a large, Yayoi-era settlement. The site was fully excavated and subsequntly turned into a national park with dozens of reconstructed buildings and fortifications. You can enter many of the structures and admire the intricate bamboo and wood construction up close!
