US vs the World
Just to give you guys some insight, the US has some of the most lightest gun laws in the world, which leaves room for what? More chances of Mass shootings.
Which, by the way, the US also leads in those numbers.Â
Let us put things in perspective. The US makes up 5% of the world’s population, but holds 31% of global mass shootings. Gun Homicide rates are 25.2 times higher than any other country. Americans also holds 48% of the estimated 650 million civilian-owned guns worldwide.Â
I don’t know about you guys, but these numbers are suprising to me!
How is it that we don’t even make up 6% of the world’s population yet we own almost 50% of the world’s guns, we have more mass shootings, and we have the greatest homicide rate than any other country.
It is not a matter of taking away guns from citizens of the US because in all honesty that will be impossible to do. But instead we as a country need to take steps to creater stricter gun laws to try and bring these numbers down.Â
