Chase stood, pacing along the concrete railing. Below him at the bottom of the seven story building, police had laid out a air filled mat, in hopes to cushion his fall if he so chose to fly over that edge. Stacey had called him, another call, another fight, another drink too many. He gripped the half gone bottle of whiskey. The sky was cloudy, the sun just peeking through in some places. Footsteps shook his gaze. ‘’Chase!’’ He turned to see the tear stained face of his brother. The magician had always been there for him, helped him through the toughest times. Marvin stepped closer but chase stepped back, on the very edge of the railing. ‘’Chase...please.. this isnt the way....This isnt you! Come on, lets talk okay? ‘’ Chase looked at the bottle and back at his brother. ‘’Marv..You have been so good to me...Through everything...I just...Its too hard...day in and day out the constant fighting with her, just to see my babies...she wants this..’’ Chase’s words shook marvin to his core. his brother had lost his will, lost his way. Chase took a drink from the bottle. ‘’ I love you bro...’’ Marvin reached out to him. ‘’ Please...Chase..I can help...I have before!’’ His voice shaky, tears rolling past his mask. Chase looked up at the sky once more, and stretched his arms out, letting himself begin to fall. He felt his feet slip from the rail, the wind start to flow past him when a hand grabbed his arm. Marivn pulled with all his might. ‘’ We are getting through this together Chase.. I wont let you fall!’’ Chase saw the anguish in his brothers eyes and helped climb back up, he himself crying now. On the rooftop he fell to his knees, his face buried in his hands. ‘’ What is wrong with me?’’ Marvin could only grab him in a tight hug, so grateful that he was still here with him. ‘’Nothing Chase...You just need a break...’’
